Forums - Gaming - Crysis 3 - Most technically advanced game yet? New trailer

With that advanced toad tech, I hope they make a Frogger remake. Would be glorious.

Ongoing bet with think-man: He wins if MH4 releases in any shape or form on PSV in 2013, I win if it doesn't.

This is from an indie dev

What game's this? Looks quite impressive.

i believe "hard reset"

Yup, Hard Reset for PC. It was 3.74 USD on Steam during the Summer Sale. I highly recommend it. Check out more hi-res screens here:

Wow... It looks very realistic. Unfortunately I will probably never play the game, since the Wii U won't get it (atleast, that's what they're saying and the grafix probably wouldn't look like it) and my laptop just shuts down after 10 minutes of playing Crisis 2 on the lowest settings (which still are impressive).
I wonder how games would look like after 10 years...

Best engine on PC hands down.

One of the top for consoles, only beaten by ND's Uncharted & TLOU Engine, SSM's GoW3 engine and GG's Killzone 2-3 engine.

Considering the above are all exclusives thus the developers only focus on ONE console and Crytek on pretty much all: That is remarkable!

Really?...really?

I mean...really...

You are only wasting your time man.

i agree with him (aldro).

i used to think Crysis 2 was the best looking on console, but when i bought my ps3 a few months ago, i was blown away by the graphics in Uncharted 2 and 3, God of War 3, and Killzone 3.

though i do think Crysis 2 is a bit better looking than Killzone 2.

i dont game on PC so i really cant comment, but im sure the engine is the best PC engine, but on console i dont think so.

that tech trailer did'nt impress me,but I'm sure the game is going to be fun. I might get the game in a year, when it becomes cheap.

This is good but, I am really not seeing this as a leap over current gen games. If this is all we can expect from next gen consoles, I really hope they continue to support PS3/360, because that is not worth the price of admission.

With the 8 year gap between the 360 and it successor I expect a leap in tech that is larger than any we have ever seen in the console industry. If these rumors of 4GB, and 8 core processors are right, I don't know why we did not see these consoles last christmas.

A console launching next year should have at least 6GB and 12 cores, with 8GB and 16 cores being the sweet spot. It should also have a GPU of near top end specs from this year. If MS and Sony do not step forth, I will be done with the big three. Samsung and apple will send Andriod and iOS device to market that will destroy a cheap half baked next gen console in no time. Plus they will focus on much more open platforms, and much better multi-tasking.

I like the way you think and hope you are right.  I think there is plenty room for a visual leap, and the amount of improvement vs power diminishes exponentially - so we need power as we can get.  I hope the Nextbox has super powerful specifications (and I thought the original 360 did when it came out.)

I think much will be governed by what the developer of Unreal Engine 4 wants.  (and he has high expectations.)

Really not sure I see any point of Consol over PC's since Kinect, Wii and other alternative ways to play have been abandoned.

Top 50 'most fun' game list coming soon!

Tell me a funny joke!

Top secret tessellation toad tech vs. Chuck Norris? Chuck Norris still wins...

Exactly I dont know why some people in here dont agree

I highly optimized console with 8 core and 6Gigs of RAM with no background noise the PCs have would run this without even breaking a sweat as long as it has a decent GPU

well from my last convo with my cousin whose a lead engine designer at Epic, the dev kits they have for the nextbox have 8gb of RAM

don't ask me for anymore info, even getting that out of him was a hassle

Dev kits normally have double the RAM right? So 4Gb for a retail NeXtBox?

Looked really good, I'm hoping next gen is better though. Still crossing my fingers on that refrence to next gen being like batman in 60's to the dark knight.
