What exactly is a faceplate? Is it like that Scribblenauts gamepad cover?

Hmmm.. faceplates option. I like it. Nintendo is starting to win me over with this Wii U business.

More or less, think the removable plates on the front of Guitar Hero guitar peripherals. Or old Nokia phones .

I think it would be kind of like this, and it clips on to the Gamepad.

Ohhhh, so the "faceplates" have been designed to be interchangable? Cool, here comes that matte gamepad.

I don't know if they've designed the controller in such a way that you can remove the standard faceplate and interchange it with another, I hope so, that would be the sleekest option. Don't know if there's a picture of the GamePad from such an angle that would give a clue (anyone?).

It could however indeed be like mysticwolf says, where the plate clicks over the controller like a cover, making it a little thicker but would probably be cheaper. The Scribblenauts one could be like this (...which would mean you were right XD...).
