Forums - Sales - Media Create & Famitsu Japan Sales: Week 31, 2012 (Jul 30 - Aug 05)

Square Enix had to double the servers because the initial ones were too crowded, so I really don't think DQX sold below expectations for them. Still massive bombas all around. But I guess we can agree on the fact that Sony would wish for bombas like this in their current situation.

Ongoing bet with think-man: He wins if MH4 releases in any shape or form on PSV in 2013, I win if it doesn't.

[WII] Dragon Quest X: Mezameshi Itsutsu no Shuzoku Online (Square Enix) {2012.08.02} - 420.311

Well, I think that's at least good. Could be better, but it's a wii game we're talking. Thing is deader than dead there.

How do you do this, is there a tool you use or do you fetch these manually. I used garaph to get the numbers for NSMB, but I wanted in this style. Let me know.

The game sales page shows all data from Week 1 to Week 10.

Horrible for mainline DQ, it probably won't cross 600k.

It's beating FFXI, which is really the only comparison that can possibly be made here.

Plus SE had to double server capacity, so it's clearly performing past expectations.

And know you that i was alerted to this post because someone reported it. It's not actionable in my opinion, but be wary.

DID FFXIV release in Japan on PS3?

Wow, someone reported me for saying that?

Mr Khan
obviously the words by itself arent
but the way he posted...his intention was flaming imo

Delayed to 2013 due the desastrous PC launch.

Its so funny to see the Sony fans trying to spin this good news, You can't compare Dragon Quest X to previous Dragon Quest entries because they aren't MMOs.

FFIX is over ten years old guys. It was the first MMO on consoles and a PC version was already announced.

And MMOs weren't quite as popular back then.

They really can't be compared.

First MMO on consoles? Nope.avi.

That's what wikipedia says. They do mention Phantasy Star Online happened first but it wasn't open-world so it's essentially not a real MMO.

So to be a Massively Multiplayer Online game, it needs to be Open World? Sorry, but i dont think so.

Also, Wikipedia: "The popularity of MMOGs was mostly restricted to the computer game market until the sixth-generation consoles, with the launch of Phantasy Star Online on Dreamcast and the emergence and growth of online service Xbox Live. There have been a number of console MMOGs, including EverQuest Online Adventures (PlayStation 2), and the multiconsole Final Fantasy XI. On PCs, the MMOG market has always been dominated by successful fantasy MMORPGs."
