Square Enix Doubles Dragon Quest X Servers

Chat and friend bug fixes coming this week.

Square Enix gave Dragon Quest X a big infrastructure boost during a regularly scheduled maintenance that was held today from 4:00 to 6:00 in the am. The game's server farm was given twenty provisional servers, effectively doubling the server count.

This is just the first in a series of technological fixes for the game. Square Enix will also be fixing various bugs involving chat and friend functionality. These problems will be addressed over the coming week.

The game's server code is also being refined to allow for greater capacity on a single server.

Japanese readers can keep up with Dragon Quest X service updates at the DQX Plaza.

You would think with the success of FF11 they would have more MMO know-how.

I don't understand why they would ship X number of copies and then not have enough servers to actually accommodate that many players.

so it's out in Japan? What about America?

Been away for a bit, but sneaking back in.

Gaming on: PS4, PC, 3DS. Got a Switch! Mainly to play Smash

No annoucement has been made. Given that fact that Nintendo has all but dropped support for the Wii, I would say that is unlikely that we get the Wii version at all. The Wii U version is still probable though.

Only a matter of time before the Wii U version is announced.

The Wii U version was announced long ago. They just haven't given it a release date being it that the system isn't out yet. What I'm interesting in is how the 512 MB SD storage in the Wiii is going to hold all of these updates and changes to DQX.

I'm saying announced for release on Wii U in the US... In reference to your original comment.

How come noone replied to this. Really, are they so dumb, or were they expecting to see sales over a longer period of time? Is that a normal expectations when most games sell in their first or second weeks??

To me, their service just wasn't ready.
