Hey, I just sold my ps3 as well! ( http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b258/smbu2000/misc/CIMG2493.jpg ) Although, I replaced it with a dedicated Panasonic DIGA BR Recorder/Hard Disk Recorder (500GB HDD & 3 tuners! http://panasonic.jp/diga/blu-ray/bzt810_710/ ).
Anyway, If you are that worried about YLOD then your best bet is to sell it now before any announcements. Once Gamescom comes and Sony announces a new slim and/or pricecut the value of your current system will drop as well. That way you can get the maximum value for your current PS3 and then after Gamescom you can get a "new" PS3 or a possibly lower priced current slim (stock clearance?) You'd get a newer version of the PS3 (slim or super slim) and a possibly lower price along with a new warranty.
I kind of did something similar for my girlfriend. She was using my COD MW2 360 (old style 360), but she wanted wi-fi (not included on the older 360's). I found a really great deal on a new Gears of War 3 360S, so I picked that up for her. She got Wi-fi, a new warranty, the newer style controllers and a bigger HDD. I sold the other 360 to offset a lot of the price on the 360S.

Me since the games were revealed, the fanboys since E3."

IF you have PSN+ or many games in general you need space
You get so much free shit that takes up so much space and a lot of games need to install big files too.Of course its easy for people who only play Call of Duty but there are still gamers that want to play good games and there are a lot of them that take so much space.
@TC
Just install a 750GB HDD
But if you are afraid cause of another YLOD then you maybe should get a new console.
I understand your point - You think "Hmm i just wait a little bit more" and bäm the console is dead.
The Thread Title is a little bit provocative cause you expect some stupid rant that isn't justified at all.
Without the YLOD fear i would really advise(for other people) to install a spacious "PC" HDD - The PS3 is the best console ever made and can do that. You don't need to buy a 250GB HDD for 23987623 $ like you have to do with someone else*g*
I'm gonna sell it today, clearing its content right now
Lol, dont wait for the super slim.. It looks horrible. Just get the current one, its not as ugly
No offence.
Yay!!!

Whilst I like the look of the SS, I prefer the S, I just want one with a massive GB count and a warranty

Got plenty of full and psn games for my ps3, but when I'm done with em I just delete all the game data to clear up space for new stuff. Nobody forces you to keep the installs after you're done with a game ;)
Damn it, I hate being indecisive.
Went and bought this sucka instead

I look forward to when the install goes belly up!
