Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Most technically advanced game on Wii?

If I am not mistaken there was a thread about how beautiful rogue squadron looked on the gamecube. Even the RS for n64 looks great.

Rogue Leader and Rebel Strike were the most techcically advanced games last gen. No other game on any console game close to doing what they did.

Its  a shame we never got to see the game they were making for the Wii.

Damn you Sony.

I still remember how, despite Factor 5 stating that the Wii version was going to be an upgrade to the PS3 version in which they did things better, every news site that reported insisted on adding the word "downgrade" when referincing the Wii version in their article.

I second that, the rouge squadron games were and are superbly done.It just shows the lack of effort that was put into a lot of Wii games when last gen games can look that good.

Zangeki no Reginleiv. Over 100 detailed, fully  shadowed, dismemorable enemies on screen at once, destructable environments, all characters mapped with textures effects, bloom lighting, high level particle and explosion effects as, high level physics, detailed water and huge draw distances all at the same time with 4 player online co-op. No other Wii game has come close to achieving this.

I hadn't seen much of that game, but that does sound mighty impressive. How does the framerate hold up, and is there much pop-in?

Monster Hunter 3 or Mario Galaxy 2 would be my picks.

This is the Game of Thrones

Where you either win

or you DIE

1) It doesn't. It runs like syrup when using Freya's explosive arrows, or dealing with a horde of flying beasties.

2) Not with the environments, but enemies would often pop out of nowhere.

The brilliant motion+ camera controls are an example to other games though.

WHERE IS MY KORORINPA 3

You guys are being very hard on lilbroex. I read his comments same as you guys but did not feel he is in need of any adjustment. I even had a conversation with him and it went extremely well despite me being proven wrong. He is not being disrespectful in my view. I think you add your own context and that is where the misunderstanding is coming from.

Metroid Prime 3: Corruption

Nothing else comes close.

It does has some slow down when there is a really, REALLY large amount of things happening at once. As far as texture pop in there isn't really any that I can think of.

Enemies can spawn right on top of you in some levels though that is the way the game was made. That is not really a technical flaw.

Whenever you get to the point where there is that much going on, there tends to be slow down.

Nothing else on Wii comes close?

I think Pikmin 2 (GC) is still the best technical achievement from Nintendo to date. Better than Metroid Prime Corruption and Super Mario Galaxy.

I have not played Super Mario Galaxy 2 or Silent Hill Shattered Memories which others have highlighted among some other games.

I am positive Conduit doesn't matter because it was all tech-jargon and nothing worth seeing or playing.

Is that bumpmapping I spy on some of the monsters in Reginleiv, or is it just baked on?
