I hope you enjoyed the game! Although, I couldn't go to it personally, I had fun watching it on tv. |
That's just cruel, especially since he was at the game.
Once again the Patriots are playing for a spot in the superbowl, and it never gets old

Totally agree with this pick. Also third time should be the charm for Brady to finally win his fourth super bowl title.

I'm more disapointed at Seattle since they actually could have won the game if they would have kicked a field goal in the first half instead of going for it on fourth and one. They could have won against the 49ers next week also. They did the 49ers a huge favor since they should easily win against the Falcons.
brilliant amp went with the packers, wow well done baltimore and atlanta,i went with the hype,i only listened to the end of the new england game last night and they were controlling the game,
so the "old" Baltimore are still tough enough and atlanta are better than some people say they are "overrated" but i guess seattle had a tough week previous
onto the conference game to meet the regular season winner but i'm happy to get to the conference game, that is success right, whichever way you look at it

Regarding your taking away the QB comment, you could say that about a lot of teams. Or in Minnesota's case, you could say that they would be pretty crappy without their RB. But that's still a better situation to be in than teams that are already pretty crappy before you take away their best player. Like, you know, the Bears. |
Rol, the Bears went 10-6 this year with an awful coach. That is not a crappy record. If you took Aaron Rodgers off of the Packers for an entire year, I am willing to bet the farm that their record would be much worse than that. Let's not talk about that though. Let's talk about the Packers on Saturday. They gave up 180 something yards rushing to a QB. The 0-16 Lions never did that, the 0-14 Bucs never did that, and the Bears never did that. No one has ever done that. Now that is crappy.

It wouldn't have mattered against the Packers. Both Smith and Kaepernick beat them pretty good this year. So are you a 49ers fan now? |
I'm glad we've previously agreed that your old age is having a detrimental effect on your vision.
Sadly, by agreement with friends, I can not actively root against the Niners for the remainder of this season. While I will not be purchasing Niners gear, I will refrain from openly cheering everything that goes against them.
Openly cheering. The heart wants what the heart wants!

Since this website isn't really sport focused, I will drop this story here instead of making a new thread. The draft is coming up and this sort of ties into that.
http://deadspin.com/5976517/manti-teos-dead-girlfriend-the-most-heartbreaking-and-inspirational-story-of-the-college-football-season-is-a-hoax
It is a long story, but a great read. Someone took the time to do some actual real journalism. It turns out that Manti Te'o's girlfriend that died earlier this year does not exist. How no one else figured this out boggles my mind. All the interviews and stories about him meeting her and her family giving him support through the tragedy were completely made up.
Notre Dame is trying to spin this as Te'o was the victim of an internet hoax, but that does not make any sense. Who is going to carry on a hoax like this for over 3 years? Who spent hours on the phone with him?
It turns out that the person operating "her" twitter account was a friend of Te'o's. This could be a big publicity stunt, or the more I and more I read it, it seems more like a cover. It could be that Te'o is gay and had a relationship with his friend. But it is all very confusing. The PR angle just does not make sense to me. Neither does Te'o being fooled for over three years, but still lying to the media about meeting her. Then his friend turns out to be behind the Twitter account? No, the hoax angle does not make sense either.
