Forums - Sales - 3DS XL enjoys a steady start in UK; outsells 3DS 'by a factor of over 2:1' Update: "Complete Rubbish"!

What about DSi XL? How did that fare out? I don't think it was that impressive

so around 75k in europe.

Less than 10k isnt exactly anything spectacular, although it is only a day.

Next Week will be the real indicator. Anything less than 15k 3DS sales in the UK would be quite bad.

What's coming next week that's going to stop it from dropping?

VGC doesnt have UK specific sales for DSi XL boost... But the Week before, DS did 79k in EU. XL launch Week (2 days), sales boosted 117% to 171k.

Take from that what you can.

A full Week of sales + more advertising.

I think NSMB week is the one to watch. Surprisingly there really hasn't been that much Western releases (too far in between). They need a couple of evergreen titles thrown in there to keep sales sustained.

Update: We recently posted up information on the sales of the 3DS XL in the UK, but it appears that MCV has gotten some info wrong. Here's a comment from Chart-track on the info.

"The comparison with 3DS is complete rubbish and totally factually incorrect. 3DS week one was around 10 times the sell through of 3DS XL so there's no way 3DS XL could have outsold 3DS by 2:1."

MCV countered by saying that the week one sales comparison was for that specific week, and not the launch week of the 3DS.

Less than 10k...a "steady start"....that's one way to put it.

RIP handhelds in the west UK.

I didn't even realise there was any confusion, it's kinda obvious the 3DSXL 2:1 3DS bit was only about that week.

under 10k in a day is impressive... add the regular 3ds and that is pretty big for the week...
i dunno but VITA sold 40+k for the whole week (world wide) last week... so that is pretty big considering 3ds XL is not really a "new" system.
Nintendo should've release a LONDON Olympic Special Edition 3DS xl... that would be awesome.
