In 20 years.. we are going to eat tasteless and translucent, semi-viscous gel which will contain all the human nutrients requirements for a day.

In a perfect world....

it will be called Lembas-Gel

“It appeared that there had even been demonstrations to thank Big Brother for raising the chocolate ration to twenty grams a week. And only yesterday, he reflected, it had been announced that the ration was to be reduced to twenty grams a week. Was it possible that they could swallow that, after only twenty-four hours? Yes, they swallowed it.”

I think the writers of this Article have never been in North America. The day I eat crickets on a daily basis is the day I stop eating.

I think the message is rather:

The day you are forced to stop eating the food you used to know (because it became so expensive) is the day you're happily going to start eating crickets.

Personally I think I would be fine with eating insects. In the end it's just a cultural thing, we're simply not used to the idea so far, while in large parts of the world it's a common food already. As great as grilled cricket might taste, most western people would probably feel disgusted if they see dozens of crickets on their plate. But extract the meat, put it in a different shape and tell people it's chicken, and most people might not even realize. And they're even kosher!

Those grasshoppers have lots of calcium. Problems with osteoporosis? Forget milk! Eat our new grasshoppers!

And walrus juice:

no probs with grasshoppers or smaller bugs or such things which you find everywhere in some asian/african and maybe south america countries on the market or wherever but i don't like caterpillars and big bugs. i once saw a few people in africa eating huge caterpillars and that was not so nice^^

Start eating crickets! There are usually an explosion of them in the Austin area every late Spring/Summer. So many of them that they just wait to be squished by cars during the night at ATMs, gas stations, hell even my factory is overrun by them...

I'm by Fort Worth, I know what you mean.

Before the PS3 everyone was nice to me :(

i think it's really funny that as example we in germany eat shrimps out of the north sea because we do that for hundred of years and no one really cares but if it comes to other things which if people would be really honest, aren't more disgusting, people go crazy here^^

i mean, we eat that

but think this is horrible

not sure if this makes really sense^^

ACtually at a candy store nearbye they have Sour cream and onion Crickets and Meal Worms, and choclate covered ants. Obviously they only sell for shock value. But my older step son who is vegetarian ate them up!

Be a good guy and teach him the difference between animals and plants. Otherwise he'll have problems when he goes to the veterinary to castrate his pet broccoli.

I doubt diet will change very much in most places.

According to old cartoons, by the year 2000 we were supposed to be getting our food completely in pill form.
