Interesting not funny. Because despite not selling well, Ni No Kuni still didn't do too bad in comparison with recent high-profile new JRPG IPs in Japan.

That's a very good point. It's either the two you mentioned underperformed (my guess), or expectations for Ni No Kuni were too high, or it underperformed. It's hard to tell which one it is.

I really hope this Ni No Kuni sales fiasco don't kill the series and makes it come back to portable form.

At least there's a translation project for it, but it's crawling at this moment!

Interestingly enough despite the low sell in Japan it still outsold Xenoblade and it's on it's way to outsell The Last Story...lol

I really don't go by VG Chartz japanese software numbers.

The point is, the DS game outsold them all combined.

Ni no Kuni outsold by Assassins Creed?
Damn. I really can't belive sales are this low. Or am i missing something? Like the collectors edition releases earlier or something?

must-have-list for platforms i don't own yet:

WiiU: Donkey Kong

XBone: Dead Rising 3, Ryse

Pic from neogaf, look at the amount of copies one store has of the digital versions alone for both games

And it's supposed to sell more in physical copies!! Geez, there must be more than 1 thousand copies in this pic alone

wtf. Are retailers shelving the gamecards'entire lifetime stock?

Top 30

3DS - 11
PSP - 9
PS3 - 5
WII - 3
NDS - 1
PSV - 1

Even better for RF4, Tokyo Jungle continues to live (what a surprise hit, another case of should have been on VIta, tbh) and Ni No Kuni well, did bad - level 5, karma is a bitch (that's for not translating the DS game - you know, the one that sold well!)

Huge differences!

No, that's the only SKU for the game. But it's just an updated rerelease, so even though it did bad, it was not supposed to do good. Ass Creed is becoming bigger in japan too. First weeks for it are getting as high as 60k

Yeah I don't know why but VGC shows Ni No Kuni PS3 having very great legs. We might never know the truth.

But we both know Ni No Kuni DS was overly shipped and received big price cuts only a couple of weeks after release and came out during the holiday season so it's not a very good comparison. They actually only made one shipment for the game and have yet to sell it all :/

How is Media Create going to count the downloadable copies?

Anyways, I say next week:

3DS: 150k
NSMBW2: 500k
Brain Age: 100k

They really all underperformed expect maybe Xenoblade which I have no idea what they were expecting. But considering the quality of the game it would be hard to believe they weren't hoping for more sales.

I think Xenoblade was supposed to have 135k in Japan and 500k WW.

Western figures really outdid all predictions, and continue to do so (selling between 6-8k per week the past few weeks)

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.
