Seems like the Americans turned it up a gear or two today, really beating the competition in just about everything.

Must have been sick of seeing China take gold all the time :P

Now we have a first place tie!

...uhh...ill just put my favorite quote of all time here.

Yeah, great day for GB and America today!

Though I think China went off the boil, and will come back again in the coming weeks...

Athletics tomorrow!

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.

Not so Ninpie, I was just saying that the people who said Phelps had lost it, and GB were out of it, were wrong. But Phelps is a legend, the cheer he gets is near that for the British!

Lol, you know I'm just kidding with you!

good day for good ole US-of-A!!! currently in the lead in total medals!!

China is still leading in the medal tables, but USA catched them in gold ones.
This olympics, they are gonna be shoulder to shoulder. But I'm pretty sure than in Rio de Janeiro China is gonna win easily.

i just googled the results... USA has 37 to china's 34, slight lead, but they still give china the lead since they have more silvers than the US

Yes, that's how it's always been. The leading country is the one with more golds, if they are tied, the one with more silvers, if they are tied, the one with more bronze.

I hope Mexico can win some golds!!!! We have 3 silvers and a bronze, but countries with only one gold are ahead of us. A gold would really change that. Hopefully in Tae-Kwon-Do!!!

I've said it once, I'll say it again

If Country A has 1 gold and nothing else and Country B has 1000 silvers and nothing else, Country A is in the lead, no questions asked.

If Country A has 1 gold and 1 silver and country B has 1 gold and a billion bronzes, Country A is still in the lead.

PS One/2/p/3slim/Vita owner. I survived the Apocalyps3/Collaps3 and all I got was this lousy signature.

Xbox One: What are you doing Dave?
