I just missed the first gold for GB which is a bit annoying. Hope there is more to come today.

well doen the ladies footy, good fun i watched most of it,funny how the japan coach said something about a draw as if you want to get to a final you probably need to avoid the USA ladies but the badminton people can't do the same thing, not that i really know what they all did

god do rowing fianls ever actually start this is the olympics too many heats we already know who the best teams are

i agree actually they should have a points system for tables and have some sort of ranking if one person can win like 8 medals in the top of world sport then obviously its a bit weighted in events isn't it, like swimming for example, not that i'm complaining about right now just in history/future

is it a rowing final kick off right now

I understand what you mean but it would be difficult. I mean if you are a boxer you can only fight at one weight in one event and therefore only go for one medal whereas as a swimmer you can compete in more than half a dozen if you so choose.

Well done GB. Gold.

thats right but then i think they need to separate the events out a bit then if you ask me or nto have so many just a sprint freestyle and a disatnce freestyle, thast would shake races up a bit

for example our 50m backstroke guy is world champ/record holder i think but it is not  an olypmic event either have it for everyone or very few, just my opinion though as i only ever watch swimming at the majors so i don't really know

but if you want a true reflection of medal tables also population size and country wealth should come into it for points awarded to your medals or something,i am a nerd of course and like stats but it would be alot more interesting for big game events i think in future, however they worked it out, like a duckworth lewis in cricket or something

I would've liked a Bronze there for AUS, ah well plenty more to come for everyone.

The commentators nearly had a stroke there in the men's eight

Gold and Bronze for GB, I said not to worry!

That commentator nearly passed out though ;)

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.

Even if he doesn't do that, he's sure to walk the 4k Pursuit.

Hmm, pie.

I think all those badminton pairs have been disqualified. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/olympics/19072677
