@Justin- I think it's because you said if she was a 'White European' her performance wouldnt have been questioned.

I know, but ALL medalist would be tested and samples kept. An athlete's race or nationality have nothing to do with it where testing is concerned.

I was just saying race MAY matter when accusations are being thrown around.

The reason questions are being asked is because of the systematic Chinese doping of their swimmers in the 90's ,and just because you clear the test doesn't mean you didn't dope leading up , and even though you race clean the doping has done it's job  look at Marion Jones , still I hope she is clean and even if she wasn't young 16 year old girls don't dope but institutions can either surreptitiously or by decree , so I feel for her damned by past practice.

Woot! Go America's Woman's Gymnastics team!!

They did really good overall.

I loved like the Brazil volleyball team played yesterday against Russia.

Will team GB win its first gold medal today???

I'd say GB are looking at 2-3 Golds today, as their events roll in.

They're dominant in the rowing Women's, and Bradley Wiggins destroyed the time trials. Now, if Jamieson or the other guy could match yesterday, another gold is on. Then we have the other swimmer and Chris Froome looking for medals...

If we have no golds after today, THEN we can panic. But I see us having a handful more today, like doubling our tally, with a couple gold.

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.

Interesting case about the Female Badminton players. They've deliberately played into the net, to lose the match. Both pairs were into the quarters, but the loser would have the easier passage to the final...

...but they've been charged now.

I'm rooting for GB and Japan football team this Olympics. Hopefully, they'll wind some gold today :)

I'd like more details on it. Tactical play such as this should be stamped out by disqualification. The only reason any of it happened was because of the first Chinese team who didn't want to play their fellow countrymen. Korean's responded to try and make the game 'fair'. Then in the case of the other game it was a response to Chinese losing.

Chinese team should be disqualified.

Hmm, pie.

Recently saw the amount of medals that can be won in the respective sports. really stupid that swimming has like 400, Judo has like 100 and some have only 2 gold medals to be won. Quite weird.

Oh, and the German team sucks, as is the case since 1995 or so. Before that we profited from all the doping done in DDR.
