As you can see it was basically a relaunch of the console, and had a huge impact. The first and second halves of the PS3's life look totally different.

After the slim launched in 2009, there have been slight declines every year, though never to previous levels.

Where do you think the new model will put the PS3? Will it reach 2009 levels? Surpass them? Fall short? Keep declining?

Well since Sony is desperate enough too price cut each and every year, the PS3 is looking to continue a steady decline and of course it's doing better than previous, it was selling horribly before, now it's just decent.

PS3 is the #1 selling console, I would imagine it would only spike sales slightly higher. They will still be #1. There's your prediction lol.

How.. was it selling horribly before? You mean before it was released for $399?

Nope I'm sure the Wii is the #1 selling console

@Leo j Lol its lifetime figures show how poorly it was doing before, anyways yes the PS3 should make it too 90 mil if Sony continues this trend of annual price cuts

Well. look at the graph, it's basically when PS3 sales shoot up right in the middle. Late 2009. I'll put it in the OP anyway.

It's quite late so I can't seem to quite make sense of the charts, but I'm still expecting a YoY decline, it might not be a big decline, but it'll be trackable I think.

YoY decline is certain because Sony themselves are targeting 13 million PS3s for FY 2013 (which is from April 2012 to March 2013).
