I expect there will be a number of HD collections from Gamecube or Wii available on Wii U

All the Wii titles will already be playable on the Wii U

All the Virtual Console stuff will port to Wii U

So... no, I don't think I will be keeping the hardware once I get my Wii U and transfer things over.

I suspect this is an alt account. If you or anyone considers that bashing, you are too high strung. His comments are not completely outside of the constrains of the topic of the thread. This thread is about the Wii post-Wii U and his feelings over the Wii apply to how it will be used next gen and affects his decisions next gen as well. Since the Wii has a much different library than the other consoles it's post gen strength could be affected. I don't know if that will be positive or negative, and that is a worthy point of discussion in this thread. So instead of jumping down wagram's throat, phenom08 should have been constructive.

I will likely set it away for preservation purposes when Wii U comes out.

The only GameCube game I will ever play again is Skies of Arcadia Legends; so that is all I will need it for - until (assuming it will) it gets released on Wii U Virtual console. I didn't really find anything uniquely interesting in the GameCube library for me that wasn't an experience topped on the Wii or the N64 beforehand (and often both ), with the exception of Skies of Arcadia Legends, which I already had played through multiple times prior on Dreamcast; and loved - but the additions to the GameCube version make that excellent game just even more excellent (rather than ruining or polluting it as many remakes often do - like Chrono Trigger on PSX or DS; or Final Fantasy 1 remakes).

@Chark ok whatever bud believe whatever you want, he has an history of anti Wii, why post in a thread if you don't like a platform anyways. That's beyond me though I grew years ago, some of us take longer than others. Also you can suspect whatever you want you probably just feel the same way as he does. His comments were off topic, this thread asked for the Wiis outcome not his opinions but have trolling the Wii is actually ok for certain Moderators.

I still have my NES, my SNES, my N64, my Gamecube, and I will surely be keeping my Wii.

Anyways, while I'm terrible at keeping my handhelds (my 3DS will soon be sacrificed for a 3DS XL ), I'm actually quite good at keeping my home consoles (still have my Genesis, N64, and GameCube). I suspect I'll be continuing this trend with the Wii.

And yeah, I really do need to get back to my backlog of games on that system...
