Forums - General - Your personal experiences in mass shooting/killing?

How did you feel during and after the event? Did you come out ok? Did you lose loved ones? Did your view of the world change?

I think now is a good time to talk and share personal experiences about things like this because of the recent shooting at Colorado. Let's make this thread a tribute to that tragic event and every other mass killing like it and leave politics, religion, and anything else that can lead this thread's purpose off topic aside, please.

Yeah, I made it out okay.

No never... but i saw an aftermath... i was working in ER and they send around 8 people with gun shots... some of them didnt make it :( it was horrible, good thing i didn't have to deal with the family though

My home country was in a state of war for 28 years. The terrorists used everything from child soldiers to suicide bombers. So many bombings. It was a terrifying time. I'm glad it's all over now tho. That's why I always hope for peace for others as well, horrible experiences

I saw lots of dead bodies from murders, accidents, suicides, old age, and whatever but I've never seen a mass killing and I've never had somebody close to me die violently. I got nothing. Still, I'm interested in seeing the replies in this thread.

Thanks for sharing.

I lived in New York during 9/11. My mom worked near Ground Zero, and my dad is FDNY. I was lucky though, and didn't lose anyone.

Did you see it as it was happening?
