Spend 2500 on something you want, build a pc, make a down payment on a car, etc. put the other 4k into an intermediate bond fund. Intermediate bonds beat inflation by a solid amound, while having a very low rist (I have a few grand in one and have made money while the market is stalling right now)

Keep the $6,500 in a high interest savings account and save up for something you really want. A car, a holiday, college tuition or whatever you want.

Put some of it into share investments if you know anything about shares or ask someone who knows something about shares.
