You obviously don't have one. I have one along side my PS3 & 360 and the Wii U is very cool. We've been playing games on it all day and the second screen is far cooler than I thought it'd be. As for the Kinext, I sold ours about a onth ago as it just never got used and my Move controllers have been stashed in a drawer for months now. The Wii U Game Pad is far from the "gimick" that people that don't have one think it is. Now grow up and stop being such a "fanboy". |
look at the posting date lol

At least Wii U has a good gimmick. Kinect serves a better purpose as a bludgeoning tool (not really, but I have yet to play a Kinect game that wasn't a waste of my time).

| Pyro as Bill said: The guy from MS who said that WiU is little more than a 360 is correct. Kinect sold more 360s than 3D did for the PS3 or 3DS. PREDICTION: Kinect will sell more 360s/720s than an extra (controller) screen will for Wii-U. The extra screen WILL NOT sell the Wii-U. PREDICTION: Not a single 'assymetric gameplay' game will hit 10M or 20M. Nintendo has absolutely no idea what they're doing. A year in and we're already seeing the 3DSXL. Desperation. 2D Mari-U will do no more for WiiU than MK7 did for 3ds. The extra screen will hardly be used after the first year, maybe Nintendo will keep using it but 3rd parties will prety much drop it for it's GAMING features. If Nintendo wins next gen it will be because Sony and MS completely eff up. Sony's nearly out of here but MS should win if they don't focus on Kinect and continue appealing to the PC gamer. PREDICTION: If Wii-U has a 10M or 20M seller it will be because of motion control or symmetric local multiplayer. |
No, you're right. The extra screen/motion controls will not sell the console. The games will sell the console, as has always been the case. And with games like 2D and 3D Mario, Zelda, Metroid, Smash Bros, Call of Duty, Wii Fit, Mario Kart, Dragon Quest, Monster Hunter, I find it hard to see a scenario where the Wii u doesn't put up at least respectable numbers.
Will it replicate or surpass Wii's success? Highly unlikely, but I see no reason it couldn't end up selling like PS3 or 360 when its all said and done.

I wouldn't say that, just let me take a wild guess of what could happen. Nintendo says there will be a new zelda, metroid, star fox and an all new epic series coming out next year and the wii u becomes the best selling console of all time! Maybe I went to far.....no.....that can happen.

Anybody with a single working eye can see that nintendo isnt in a good place. It's not an original thought lol.
Only people who cling to wii-era domination are weirdos on here.
Motion gaming is dead.kincet failed and the wii u will be fine.

I never said "Nintendo core". I said the "core" gamer which are gamers who aren't rooted into a brand but rather core gaming in general. Nintendo fans, people who bought the Gamecube, they are always going to be there for the big N. But that's not enough to win a generation. The Gamecube only sold 20 some odd million units and finished last. There simply aren't enough of them to have an impact needed to win out. In order for Nintendo to do what it did this gen, it's going to have to get all the core gamers on their side and my argument is, they threw them away by basically ignoring them for the last 6 years. Take a look at their e3 shows. Remember that Wii Sports Resort debacle? Or how about Wii Music? They basically ignored the Halo,Killzone,GOW,COD,Ico and Uncharted demograph...IE "core". They did this because soccor mom's and the like were all buying into their products and they foolishly threw all their resources that way. When that whole trend died, and the casual went away, what happened? They tanked because there was nothing left. If the core gamer left, and the soccor moms moved onto the next fad (ipad/iphone), what's left? Nintendo fans. And Nintendo fans aren't nearly enough. |
just to point something that is obvius (your ignorance) nintendo in the home console systems to date count with 3 comercial dominant systems: NES 61.1 million WW, Super Nes 49.10 million WW, and Wii 98 million WW. sony have two ps1, ps2 microsoft has zero comercial dominant systems.
now in the portable market Nintendo till this day has detroyed all rival platforms. so please next time try some valid argument.
