I used to have a ton of points on my Club Nintendo Profile. I don't have enough money, though, to keep it up throughout the year!

I'm pretty sure you do lose them if they aren't spent.

Hmmm... I thought I read that after Club Nintendo's "Calendar Year" your points would be whiped.

After you login in there is a link under your name for "Account & Coins".  Under Account Details, there is a box for a Family Account and Family Members.  You could try seeing if you could use that to combine the accounts.

Hmmm... I thought I read that after Club Nintendo's "Calendar Year" your points would be whiped. 

No.  Unredeemed coins expire after 2 Club Nintendo years.

Your Elite Status coins reset every year, but that does not affect your total coins.  The Elite Status coins are really just a running total of the coins you earned in a single Club Nintendo year.

I looked at my profile and saw that last year, 490 of my coins expired. -_- Dang you Nintendo!!!! I was saving for cool stuff.

I don't know how you are supposed to save up for the 800 and 1200 point items anymore.  Two years is not much time to get to that level.
