Forums - Nintendo - Tetsuya Takahashi (Xeno series creator) on next project

Really looking forward to see their next project (and to but Project X Zone from them too!), they really bought me with Xenoblade and Disaster.

CURRENTLY PLAYING: Xenoblade (Wii), Super mario 3D land (3DS), Guild Wars (PC)

I agree with the OT, my body is probably not ready... But I'll manage it somehow, bring it asap Takahashi-san.

If xenoblade was just a test, I cannot imagine just how gorgeous thier next game is going to be!

Honestly speaking, we probably won't hear about this game for a least 2 years. I'd say that maybe it might be longer like 3 or 4 years.

I don't know why people tell me to get a life. I'm a gamer, I have lots of lives!

I'd love to free myself from these sorts of restraints and write whatever I truly want to write

I couldn't figure out why they would care so much about a game like Xenoblade Chronicles when they had so many superior RPGs to choose from in the West.

he would like to see people on the development team who isn't a player or interested in games, but who knows art and literature well

These are big flashing warning signs to me. Constraint has always been the source of good games, you make what the customer wants rather than what you want. Not understanding why your game worked means it will be difficult to repeat its success. And not having people interested in games on it means they will not use the strength of the medium (interactivity) and instead have a linear, movie-like story which is not why people bought Xenoblade.

Very excited to see what they can bring to life in HD, and hopefully with more help from Nintendo this time round.

Well, Xenoblade only seemed so good because the RPG industry on home console is in bad shape. It was still a step down from Xenosaga, which in turn was a step down from Xenogears.

It's the same deal with North American RPGs; they aren't really that good, they're just better than what's available. Most of the RPGs from North America have sold out the genre and introduced too many action elements - and that's the reason's people like them, not because of their RPG elements.

I describe myself as a little dose of toxic masculinity.

If this comes for the Wii U then I wil have to buy this damn Thing.

Good lord don't make anything more complicated than Xenoblade. I've had a hard enough time keeping up with all the disparate elements as it is.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

Xenosaga was not a step down from gears imo and I have played some jrpgs this gen that I liked mroe than some from the last 2 gens. We just need more in a sense.

Xenoblade is actually quite tame compared to some WRPGS recently, I am betting you won't like WRPGS that are bound to be released on wiiu.
