There is no "one" game. Metal Gear Solid 4 didn't propel the PS3 to its current sales position. It got there through a well-rounded library of games and a series of price drops/remodels. Its perceived value changed over the course of the generation. As far as games that could boost sales, Call of Duty might help. Sony needs to convince the general market that the Vita has a good amount of value. This means price drops, lots of AAA titles, and plenty of extra features. One game will never achieve all of that.

A new title would have to be the one to sell the Vita (OoT didn't do that much for the 3DS and in terms of remakes, OoT is probably the best title to choose for Nintendo). I would probably say an FPS game would be the system seller for the Vita because that's what most people are into now.

In my opinion it already has with Gravity Rush... the game is just utter brilliance!! I can't stop playing it, i've not had this experience with a handheld game since the severely under-appreciated LocoRoco

Game quality isn't the issue. It's popularity that is key - a great but niche title can't be THE game, unless the platform itself is destined to be niche.
