Yawn...probably from people who still say the Wii U is inferior to X360 or PS3; or those who think the PS Move was a success. Honestly, this is getting pretty boring now.

What that does is say "It's Nintendo's fault again". But problem is, they're damned if they do, damned if they don't.
They keep things close to their vests in order to secure their strategy.

If this were to be fixed, it's up to people in general to become more intelligent and not extrapolate information in the most moronic manner, imho.

Faith in humanity was mildly lost again.

I'd guess they've hated it for far longer due to all the third-party restrictions back on the NES/SNES days. Nintendo was like the biggest bully around haha.

Why do they convert including VAT? It's tiresome to see European press converting USA prices without taking into consideration VAT, and American press including VAT into their conversion.

i could only speak for myself and a few others, but Ninty has been letting down some people these past years, so they would be more inclined to not think Ninty will live up to whatever it is they are selling. However that 500 dollar price was just bonkers

The original poster not spend the minute it would take to translate the text (which the update notes and a separate thread herein discusses) that clearly states that Nintendo has not provided the price.  Instead, they went to a currency calcultor to find out how much euro400 is in USD ($504) and posted.  The poster didn't even think that even if this were the price, it probably would be normalized (to USD $400) by Nintendo.

It just seems to me that people are more apt to speculate negatively about Nintendo ... or do I just notice it more since I am following Nintendo more closely this generation. (Or does it happen more to Nintendo because it plays things closer to the vest and thus without information, a vacuum must be filled).

First, people generally believe bad news. Bad news spreads quickly and people are generally more likely to believe it. This is just a phenomenom of humanity.

Secondly, why converting currency is worse than assuming it will be $100 cheaper? 


Because Nintendo's pricing history would indicate it does not directly convert prices between markets.
