No one is trying to discredit the sales, it's a valid way to boost your other products as well. People just pointed out that it's possible that that promotion might have been the reason for a sales boost for the console. I'm sure we will see something similar here as well. You just really need to get over it :P it's been over a year now already

I don't think anyone criticized the PC and free 360 deal. The only deal I remember I blasted was the $99 plus two year contract deal.

These deals are not half bad. I wouldn't do it because I build my PCs, but its not bad for someone who'd buy one retail anyways.

Are you making a serious statement here?  Does everyone else REALLY have that bad or selective a memory that they do not remember that being brought up repeatedly last year when the 360 and PS3 sales started getting closer last summer before the PS3 price cut?????

I swear sometimes I feel like I'm Oliver Wendell Douglas and this board is Green Acres.  Where's kowenicki?  nightsurge?  Michael-5? Seece ....... ?

Yes I'm serious. I only remember saying that deal would spark some serious sales and if Sony does a good job advertising it (which they probably won't) it should do well for them too.
