Forums - General - The Thread of Shame: Post some of the earlier posts/threads that you wished you never made.

Oh man, I was just browsing through some of my earlier and I stumbled across one of my earlier threads. (link below) It is the most horrific arrangement of text I've ever put together. Words cannot describe how ridiculous this thread is. I must have forgotten how much of a fanboy I used to be.

Even though that thread was a terrible thread, it brings me joy. It brings me joy because it shows how much I've learned throughout my short two years on this site. It's always a wonderful feeling when you can look at past work and easily point out it's flaws. It shows that you're headed in the right direction.

Thats why I created this thread. I want everyone to dig through their old threads & posts and find one that makes you question if you had once smoked coccaine. Find the most shameful piece you can find, and post it here so all of VGChartz can point & laugh.

Here is the most shameful thread I've ever made (keep in mind this was two years ago)

"My thoughts on how Sony views the PS3"

What mistakes have sony made this gen. They released the Ps3 at  $600, Made it hard to develop, lacked a lineup to challenge 360's, had bad online. Thus causing to the PS3 to sale bad. Does Sony care about these sales? I don't think so. I think their quite happy.

They knew the Ps3 was going to sale bad. They had the Ps2 to back them up. I don't think Sony was ready for the Ps3 to be released, but they had to so the 360 wouldn't gain too much support. This is good for Sony. I think these past few years, playstation wasn't in the the 7th gen. It was more of a mix between 6th and 7th gen. Now the Ps2 is dying and Playstation is fully in the 7th gen. Now the Ps3 is affordable, has more exclusives lined up than ever, devs are realizing its potential, etc. the future looks bright.

The Ps3 era has officially begun. Ps3 has hit $300 (Launch Price of the Ps2), has a gran turismo game on the way (Ps2 was launched with GT3 I believe). I see the Ps3 selling for about 5 more years (the length of the average gen) before the ps4 is released. These past few years was more of a pre-season for Ps3. It was just to get people and devs warmed up for the official "launch" of the ps3. Playstation officially entered the 7th gen last August. Think about it: Slim remodel, Price drop, a GT game, introducing MOVE, introducing 3D, KB ads, etc. all around the same time period. I think sony intentionally delayed GT5 to release it when the Playstaion entered the 7th gen. I believe the Ps3 will start selling like a playstation console.

Many say the Ps3 is a failure because it hasn't reached 360/Wii. Sony isn't directly competing with 360 or Wii, well they are, but sony doesn't care if the Ps3 hasn't reached the 360/Wii yet. The Ps3 hasn't reached its prime (can't say the same for 360/Wii).Blu ray  hasn't completely overtaken DVD, 3D looks promising, GT5,and It has a TONS of upcoming exclusives. Just look at my sig and add that too some others some others I haven't listed. That's enough exclusives to last well into late 2011, and we haven't even been to Gamescon, TGS, or e3 2011.  The ps3 is on a different lifecycle than Wii/360.

I know a lot of this won't make sense, hell some of it doesn't make sense to me, but this is just my opinion. I could be 100% wrong and this PS4 releases in 2012 before everyone else. what are your thoughts? Do you agree, disagree, somewhat agree, think this is the worst piece of trash you've ever read, etc.

I used to post a lot of my problems with my job and this blonde stripper chick I was crazy in love with. I wish I hadn't posted them because I have a record of how stupid I was over a girl that for the most part had nothing going for herself. Also, I would give up my awesome life in a heartbeat if it meant getting back into situations that could literally get me killed with her, again. It was a miserable existence but damn, it was exciting.

I used to have *ahem* a rather "cavalier" approach to grammar. I regret having that attitude.

I also regret three things I used to do: being an outspoken liberal, knocking creationism and posting science threads.

Most of the liberal opinions I used to post now make no sense to me. I like to think that I no longer define my political beliefs as liberal or conservative, I like to think I can form my own. I often feel that many people support something they know they shouldn't because it's how liberals or conservatives 'should feel' and that's how they define themselves. I know I used to.

Knocking creationism was just mean. When I finally realised how destructive and cruel it was I felt incredibly bad. At the time it felt like it was the right thing to do, but I regret doing it now.

Posting science threads was just pretentious. When I was doing a BSc I thought it was cool to do, it was nice to have the reputation as 'the science guy'. I was a complete tool. When I actually became involved in research I dropped that attitude like a tonne of bricks.

Links, people!

I think I've always been at least adequately mature on this site. Off hand, the only embarassing old trait of mine was ending my posts with "..."

Montana is threatening me:

I don't have any links but most debates I've had with people I've been very condescending. I'm not really like that but I've enjoyed trying to make people feel dumb instead of simply arguing my points. I haven't posted like that recently (haven't posted much at all recently) but I do wish I hadn't tried to make people feel dumb even if they're doing the same to me.

That's been a tendency of mine on and off over the years. It comes and goes

I recently distributed a cookie to someone who was able to unearth my old shame. Also my periodic meltdowns (which weren't threads, but were within threads) over various games, though more meltdowns are likely for the future...

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

I regret nothing.
