This is a repost, but it answers what your asking

I liked a lot of what they showed, though they ended somewhere I did not want them too, and perhaps that is what leaves the more negative impression. I stayed on watching the NintendoLand stuff and the other stuff and it looked good, fun for the target (of which I would be with a family and two children as well). I did want more, I wanted much more, but there is more to come. There is another conference tonight that will cover hardware aspects, and there are things coming that I know are coming.

I am primarily a PC gamer these days, infact my PC melts most other computers around, using 3x24 monitor setup at home, etc, etc, but the Wii U has me excited for the console again which I am happy to be. One of the greatest features? Playing that game on the tablet when the TV is occupied, that is absolutely the best and one of the biggest problems that occur when I want to get some time in on a game, now the kids get their stuff, the wife gets her stuff, and if I still feel like playing the Wii U, boom, no problem.

Awww Nintendo haters arent gonna buy the Wii U? Oh noze! Nintendo must just fold the company nowz!

Why do people feel the need to come on here and say they "arent convinced" when they never were going to be convinced anyway?

"yes i'm convinced..convinced im not gonna get it" wow what simple humor people have!

well i haven't watch the conference yet but i'm not convinced going in and judging by reactions i won't be convinced.  that means the wiiU will probably be the first nintendo console i don't buy.

They showed off Zombie U on GT, and it looks worse than most ps3/360 games visually..

They never needed to convince me. Looking at their promo-video there are 7 games i want and if they all come out this year it will be more than i need

Supposedly casual gamers are paying attention. They are marketing it just like the Wii. How could they not? The Wii printed money. But they have online and some big games as well, so it should do well. I am..undecided as of right now ..

casual gamers became tired of teh wii as seen from it's software/hardware sales right now.. specifically software sales.. seeing as Wii U is basically looking as powerful as the ps3 or barely more(nothing shown looks on par with big time ps3 ip yet either..) sony and microsoft could easily just re model nintendo's tablet strategy and probably release a cheap knock off, when kinect/move came out the wii just dropped in sales substantionally.. microsoft already started with smartglass.. and sony has vita to do the same.. all I see is the fact nintendo may have extended this gen a couple more years.. nothing the wii U has shown off seems nexgen.. and it certainly doesn't look like anything current gen consoles can't do..

Oh get off it. 3/4 of my gaming life has been spent on Nintendo platforms and I'm disappointed as hell.

Reggie said in an interview that all the games they talked about for Wii U will be launch titles or launch window titles, which means sometimes soon after launch. So it seems pretty convincing

Been away for a bit, but sneaking back in.

Gaming on: PS4, PC, 3DS. Got a Switch! Mainly to play Smash
