Microsoft - So last year Microsoft opened with what felt like a 30 minute Modern Warfare 3 demo. No one cares. This year they ended it their conference with a Black Ops II demo while making it sound like they were going to announce something much bigger. Again, no one cares. We know what Call of Duty is all about, a new CoD comes out every year and most people don't care about the single player they only care about the multiplayer. Gears of War 3 came out less than a year ago and they already have a new one in the works and announced it and showed it at E3. Zzzzzzzz...(and im a huge gears fan, even though nothing will ever be better than Gears 1, but come on give it some time before coming out with a new game).
Sony - The Last of Us looks amazing, no denying that and God of War: Ascension is a day 1 purchase for me. I know a lot of people are excited for Beyond, but it's not my kind of game, and I just don't see Playstation All Stars being that great (I'm a huge Smash Bros. fan). The rest of the conference was just blah. I usually buy every console and handheld that's on the market from the Big 3 companies, but the Vita just doesn't interest me at all. I owned the PSP twice and i regretted buying it shortly after i purchased it both times (fool me once shame on you. fool me twice shame on me.) But as for the Vita, I don't want to play dumbed down console games on my handheld. I want new experiences. I don't want to play the side story of Assassins Creed or Uncharted on a weaker system. If I'm going to play Uncharted or God of War, I'm going to do it the right way and play it on my PS3 which it was meant for. That's why i hated the PSP.
Nintendo - Now on to my favorite company...Nintendo. Huge Nintendo fan here. Their conference I thought started out great with the whole Pikmin showing, but again their press conference was beyond under whelming. I was expecting some big title reveals for the new Wii U system, but all we got were some third party ports and some more New Super Mario Bros. How can I get excited about announcing New Super Mario Bros. 3DS when one was just announced for the Wii U, they're practically the same thing. I love Mario more than the next Nintendo fan, but isn't it time to give the lil guy a rest??? I mean two more New Super Mario Bros. games!? One for Wii U and one for 3DS. I'm sure they'll sell like hot cakes and that's all Nintendo cares about, but I'm getting a little tired of the the Italian plumber. We just had New Super Mario Bros. Wii and New Super Mario Bros. DS and now we're getting two more. What could possibly be so different about the 3DS version and the Wii U version. I'm sure either game could have been made for either console. There's a million Nintendo franchises out there that haven't been touched in a long time. How bout we reach out to one of those other franchises for once.
All in all i didn't come in with big expectations for E3 this year since the last few years have been disappointing, and this year was no different. Another snooze fest.
"If new things are so great, where have they been the whole time?"

However, as stated before, they were expected to bring the most, so theirs as also the biggest disappointment (unless you were really expecting Sony and Microsoft to reveal their next gen consoles). |
Wow are you serious? If we say Sonys pressconference being better than Nintendos its fanboyism and subjectivity but when its the other way round its not? Pathetic. Your opinion is no more objective than my opinion. Don't accuse others of fanboyism just because people didn't like your favourite company's conference. And looking at the poll, Sony won E3 with more then half of the votes.
Nintendo's conference started really good with Pikmin 3, then nothing really amazing happend after that. Playing Batman using the tablet screen seems really gimmicky, not to mention I finished that game last november.

Ubisoft by far.
If I had to choose one of the three above.... Nintendo.
Ubisoft, then Sony, then Nintendo, then MS, then EA

Or it could also be indicative of the fact that the majority on this site support Sony as people have pointed out for quite some time.
For me, Microsoft won but that's because I'm excited about a number of games they showed where as only Last of Us and the Wii U info interested me in the other conferences. I haven't voted because I don't believe the poll means anything as it's pretty impossible to be subjective about watching a conference as you will naturally favour a conference that interests you imo.

Beyond looked absolutly stunning, eventough we havent seen gameplay, we know the developpers make crazy AAA games.
Watch Dog was great, but I dont think it was greater then TLOU. Both looks to be doing the best in their respective genre. |
Looking at your signature, I don't really see a point in arguing with you any further.
Ongoing bet with think-man: He wins if MH4 releases in any shape or form on PSV in 2013, I win if it doesn't.

Good, because you were suggesting that linearity is bad, wich is not.

Thanks, but my favourite gaming company isn't one of the big three. Additionally, I play PC first, and 360 second.
This site is known to be full of Sony fanboys anyways. Back in 2008, it was heavily populated by Nintendo fans and the few Sony fans complained, so Brent and the rest of the staff made a major push to bring in some Sony fans. It's been heavily weighted to Sony ever since, with Nintendo usually in second and Microsoft limping along behind.
Just because you don't like the facts doesn't make them any less true. I wanted to see something much better from all three, but Sony and Microsoft left with absolutely nothing special and very little actually presented. Nintendo presented more new stuff (though it was almost all stuff that everybody either knew about already or anticipated), and had a lot more content overall. Objectively, that is better.

Nintendo definately. Sony made me appreciate the Nintendo conference even more because I watched them back to back. Honestly I felt a little sick watching the Sony conference, especially The Last of Us and God of War Ascension. They have really done a good job of pushing the graphics, artwork and animation to the point where the violence made me feel a little sick. The way they presented the Last of Us was especially bad IMO because it presented the protagonist as if he just murdered a bunch of people in an especially brutal way, it doesn't even show that they were 'bad guys'.
The things I liked about the Nintendo conference was that it had a lot of content, it showed a good variety of non violent games as well as showing off the capability of the system to stand toe to toe with the existing HD consoles in terms of core gamer content.
The things I liked about the Microsoft conference was the way they changed up the pace and tried to make the conference entertaining in format and presentation between live music and the way they switched up the content. I was intrigued about Glass and I could see some use, unfortunately none of the video content stuff actually applies to me so I don't rate them on that. I did like Halo 4 as well.
About the only thing I remember fondly about the Sony conference was Beyond: Two Souls. It looked especially nice, however no matter how good it is I feel that like Heavy Rain it's the kind of game I could rent for a week and play through a couple of times and never look back at it again.
Tease.
