Forums - Gaming - Sony is admitting they copied super smash bros

You're just having a big overreaction. You're blowing this way out of proportion. They wanted Smash fans to see this, because it's a similar game.

A man is walking towards your house with a black mask on and some precision tools. Your doors are locked and its nighttime, but somehow, as you're looking outside, you manage to see him by the reflection of a street light off a buckle. No, he's not trying to stealthily break into your home, he's just testing your lock.

Maybe. Maybe not.

Tells me that Sony doesn't give two fucks about what Nintendo hardcore fans think lol.

Yeah, they don't care what hardcore Nintendo fans think, but they put tags so that hardcore Nintendo fans are the ones that will find the video and tear it apart. Sound logic.

There is no such thing as bad publicity

Sometimes...

Oh my goodness. Its sickening to watch all of these people degenerate gaming as a whole just to keep Sony from looking bad.

There is a difference between taking inspiration and copying, without taking into account when and where.
There is a different between borrowing and stealing.
There is a different between creating and ripping off.

This is not acceptable at all.

Great. Don't play it then.

That is not the point Pezus... you're smarter than this.

Yes it is. He says it is not acceptable...not acceptable to who exactly, Nintendo fans? This is a game for Sony fans, and it is clearly acceptable to them.

its not acceptable as a creator and a legitmate forward business. To make a claim that you have the best minds when all you do it copy others, and to do so with absolutely no shame. This is something I would have expected from Micrcosoft back in the day, not from Sony. It seems the tables have turned in recent years. Microsoft is actually trying to be original and progressive for once in their productions, but Sony is just leeching off of Nintendo whom, ironically, they belittled for reasons concerning the very things they are stealing. It is hypocritical and ludicrous.

I am not concerned with issues of fanboys and their war. My preferred system is the PC and before it was SEGA consoles. It would do me good if all of the major consoles came to an end, because then I could start seeing games that weren't just ports of PS3 and 360 games again or nerfed so that they could easly be put on one of the consoles later *cough* Witcher 2 *cough* *cough*. Games that are actually designed for the expansive capabilities of PCs.

Hmm, Since when does a tag = admitting to copying? To me its a smart tag because everyone is automatically comparing Super Smash Bros. to Playstations Allstars Battle Royale.

Okay, so they did not want Smash fans to see it? They tagged it as Smash to "admit they copied smash"? How does that even make sense?

Okay, I'll give you this much, they wanted to steal Smash fans. Conceded.

But all in all, the whole picture, it doesn't look good at all in a "PABR is not a Smash clone" viewpoint.

"Oh, he's not stealing, he's just taking a look!", said of a poor man you had previously suspected of theft. So I'll ask you, how does their move make any sense?

@libroex. I think the two fans being fingered in the ass right now are Nintendo fans and PC fans.

Am I the only sane person here? Am I the only person that realizes those tags are photoshopped?

HiddenConcept has a good point above, it might have been auto-tagged by Youtube. Their move makes sense in that it increases the game's publicity. The more Nintendo fans raging about it, the more people will be aware of this game. Thank god not everyone agrees with Nintendo fans.

I wouldn't be arguing with you if I didn't think you could offer a solid point. Otherwise, I have the better argument over patch arguments you're offering.

You found a viable explanation, all the power to you. But don't expect me to gobble your other explanations when my suspicions are valid.

Okay, the auto-tag thing I could buy for now, until proven wrong.

Pezus, don't bring up a counter-argument saying "Oh, they just want to attract Smash fans" and 1) expect me to see that as a justifiable excuse to the argument (Sony ripping off Nintendo) and 2) expect me to lower my suspicions, then 3) call Nintendo fans blind.

The onus was on you to up your argument, and you sticking to your old point was BS and you know it. You brought up a better argument, all the power to you. Next time, spare me the BS and offer the explanation. You know I'm smart enough to recognize a valid argument when I see one.

Every one of the companies is inspired by each other. I could show you clear very recent cases of Nintendo "copying" Sony but I won't because imo it doesn't matter. Use what works best

No you cannot. The only thing Nintendo has ever added that came from Sony was clickable analogs and that is with the very console they are releasing now. Nintendo was working with 3D and motion controls back with the original NES.
