Maybe. It would be nice if the PS3 Micro (I came up with it first, let it be known) came out at $199 along with being "party ready" so it can cross game chat like on Vita between other PS3 Micros and Vitas. The tech has been there to shrink the PS3, it is not using the smallest cell chip size available yet.

I agree. Would be very nice... with the "party ready". sales would grow bigger

20m annual sales confirmed

to little to late

not going to do much for sales specially in the west, HD market is saturated since MSs console has about the same amount of sales and they both have similar libraries. MS going to $200 for there HDD equipped 360 will steal some of this, since it hasnt been available for lower than $300 for sometime now where as a HDD equipped PS3 went to $250 last fall with little effect in terms of outselling MS during that Q

well that makes almost no sense.

Itll make buying a Vita even less tempting if the PS3 is $50 cheaper, it hasn't even been a year since the last PS3 price cut, Sony needs all the money they can get, and PS3 is selling great so far this year so theres really no need for one.

Now it makes me shake my head at MS......they have been WAY stricter with the 360s pricing.

Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.

Sony on the red yet another year. Confirmed.

Yay!!!

Well when the XBOX 360 is outselling the market leader by a significant amount, and hasn't starting declining to dramaticly, it's wise to keep making revenue off the current price.. why cut the price when ur one of the top selling consoles right now..

PS3 is currently $199 at Bestbuy in Canada.

An official price cut now could make sense only if they release the true PS3 Slim.

To answer both OP questions, no and no. PS3 will finish 3rd this generation in sales. Nintendo will be the first to release a next-gen console, it will have a big lead by the time the other next-gen's hit the stores.

Perhaps PRICE CUT = SONY LOSE MORE.. lol
