It's probably a decent game, but it was never going to get extremely good scores on a global basis.

I agree, people get way too hyped for things and then become disappointed when it doesn't meet their expectations...THAT'S YOUR FAULT not the game's

If I am not sure wheter to buy a game or not. I download the demo if available, if not I rent it and watch the IGN and Gamespot reviews. And then I decide. I did with plenty of games (Uncharted Drakes Fortune, The Witcher 2, Max Payne 3 etc.) always worked for me. 

But just out of curiosity why not?

Check every Final Fantasy XIII review. I'd love to find one that didn't mention delays (with MGS4 as well but to a lesser extent).

Maybe scorewise, but it will never sell as much as Star Wars Kinect. I think 300k is possible
