Not really. Did you never complete Prime 3 and see the little teasing cutscene at the very end? Retro clearly left it so that a sequel could be made, if they wanted.

Besides, even if they had not, they could just make a new Prime if they so wished, even if Corruption had completely and obviously concluded the Prime series. How many other franchises have gotten new titles after a seeming 'conclusion' over the years? Tons and more. Just look at stuff like Halo and God of War for some recent examples

And how many of Rare's games were published by Nintendo?  Yet you don't see Banjo, PD or Conker on the Virtual Console, do you??  Hell, one of their own PROPERTIES in DK64 is not on the VC.

Besides, everyone always asks Dennis Dyack and Silicon Knights about the possibility of ED2, of which Dennis has been hinting at for several years now. Nobody ever asks Nintendo if they're going to do ED2.

well obviously it would have to be a cross over with one of the cooler franchises.

Hopefully they will come out with something new.

Don't pollute a fun series like Starfox with Metroid boringness.

You know as well as I do that publishing a game doesn't mean owning the game. Those credits show that Nintendo owns the copyright of the name and the "program", which can mean either the game or the sanity meter as PSaiki says.

As to why do people as Dyack to develop it, the answer is very simple: because they were the ones that made the first game. It's that simple. They did the game, people liked it and now people think/hope (not without reason) that Silicon Knights are the only ones that can do another game as good or better than the last one.
