the Metroid/Starfox thing sounds pretty good to me...why all the hate?
i would buy it

Because Metroid is science fiction... Starfox is fiction set in space. The two don't meld, especially when one game is based around a future human universe and the other features talking woodland animals.

For something like that to work there would have to be a ridiculous set-up story on the Metroid side of things... ie Samus is accidentally blasted into a distant galaxy: The Lylat system... and there would be races of fox-like beings and rabbit-like beings etc.

You can't just stick a motley collection of anthropomorphised woodland animals into the Metroid universe. It would be like putting a portly plumber in the middle of a Call of Duty battle, or a talking blue hedgehog into Uncharted.

Wouldn't it be like Kingdom Hearts

FPS Metroid vs Alien style

I want Starfox X Metroid :P It would be like a pizza kabab: double win.
If not, I want a new Starfox or DKCR2.

Why is Eternal Darkness on that list?

Eternal Darkness is the property of Silicon Knights, who aren't even associated with Nintendo anymore, so how the hell is Retro rumored to be working on ED 2? lol.

As for Retro... they really need to step their game up. In 10 years they've released just 4 games, all based on Nintendo IPs. For comparison, in just half that time, Rare released nearly a dozen titles on the N64 alone. Now obviously the development cycle is much longer nowadays, but if the Wii U is going to recapture the core market, Nintendo needs more new and exclusive games than just their current stable of IPs.

If I recall.............. ED is a Nintendo's IP, Sk just made the game.

What I'm 100% sure is that the sanity meter patent belongs to Nintendo.

They've already done metroid and DKCR - let them try something else! I say, give them Starfox or Zelda! Or why not, a new IP!

I'm on Twitter @DanneSandin!

Furthermore, I think VGChartz should add a "Like"-button.

Until you've played it, every game is a system seller!

I don't want to see the Starfox/Metroid rumor come true. I'd love to see them do a Metroid OR Starfox game though. Of course I'd rather see them work on a new IP, but that will never happen.

According to a poster on NeoGAF who has "insider info", they are working on a new IP. It's in the Wii U speculation thread.

Disney characters interact with humans all the time, and final fantasy is a fantasy world, so it's less of a jump.... however I still think that is a ridiculous premise putting the two worlds together.

I just want to see a brand new IP, could just be a downloadable title. I'd be interested regardless of it being a retail title or not.

I told you the new title would bring in more people.
