I'm sure whatever they are working on will end up being amazing. I would like them to take on Zelda or Star Fox, but I would prefer them to make a new F Zero game first. They could do a great job with it.

I don't want them to take on Zelda. I think Nintendo is more suited with it themselves. I want an MK/F-Zero/Metroid from them. I think they would do good with Fast-Paced games more than RPG/Adventure.

I don't want to see the Starfox/Metroid rumor come true. I'd love to see them do a Metroid OR Starfox game though. Of course I'd rather see them work on a new IP, but that will never happen.

According to a poster on NeoGAF who has "insider info", they are working on a new IP. It's in the Wii U speculation thread.

Retro said the Prime series ended, a new IP is not likely, FZero as a launch title also not very possible, i would vote for Starfox.

Ohhh, what a fancay title you got thar!

the Metroid/Starfox thing sounds pretty good to me...why all the hate?
i would buy it

Because Metroid is science fiction... Starfox is fiction set in space. The two don't meld, especially when one game is based around a future human universe and the other features talking woodland animals.

For something like that to work there would have to be a ridiculous set-up story on the Metroid side of things... ie Samus is accidentally blasted into a distant galaxy: The Lylat system... and there would be races of fox-like beings and rabbit-like beings etc.

You can't just stick a motley collection of anthropomorphised woodland animals into the Metroid universe. It would be like putting a portly plumber in the middle of a Call of Duty battle, or a talking blue hedgehog into Uncharted.

Personally, I'd love a new DK.

Oh, and just read the bit about F-Zero.... No! Just no! It does not need missiles and bombs or any of that shit. It's a racing game. The current F-Zero craft attack capabilities are as far as it should go along that route. (which are basically a defensive shield used to ram opponents, which is difficult to use effectively as a weapon)

Bolded: I think something like that will be possible and could be something we could see sometime in the future xD.

Don't get me wrong, I think as a premise it would be neat, and could make a good game... but it would effectively ruin the Metroid backstory.

New IP. The launch of a new console is the perfect time to bring a new one to the market, Later they can return to the known franchises in case the new one does not work as intended, or make the company grow so it can work in 2 games at the same time.

I would like it to be the star fox/metroid crossover title. Neither games have been doing good on their own as of late, so lets add some umph to them.

I don't think it'll really matter. People'll just see it as both games put together and thats that.
