Forums - Nintendo - Rumor: New Wii U controller with analog sticks

@TomaTito:

Yeah, I can't really get a sense of why the design showed at E3 would be better based on that article. I mean, I see what they're saying, but it still seems like the new design could work just as well and be more comfortable to boot.

In any case, we'll hear plenty of opinions in a little over two weeks.

But I hate their new sticks. And their new d-pad. I want GC-stick and classic d-pad again. The new sticks are way to flubby and the d-pad it's edgy. Why change the old good things -.-

Pah. If there's one single company that knows how to always make insanely comfy and user-friendly controllers, it's Nintendo. I'm sure this will be no different with WiiU.

no analog sticks, no call of duty.

Wii did call of duty just fine without it.

yeah, with the wiimote. but with the wiiu, wants nintendo besides the casuals, to appeal the "core gamers" more than before. therefore it is indispensable for them to deliver a pad that can give consumers the same gameplay experience in cod-like games as it ps360 does.

I'm sorry but is this the best stick placement that they thought of. It's gonna be hard to "claw" the abxy buttons. I rather they switch the stick placement to the abxy plain.

Yes, this is true. Whilst I am a little unsure of the placement of the sticks, I figure if I'm able to put up with the claw like grip necessary for using the twin sticks on a dualshock controller, then I should be ok with this as well.

Im seriously hyped for E3 right now. Cant wait....... I think im gonna pop!!!!!!!

The little square should be just under the left hand of the user whether you hold the device horizontally or length wise.

Perhaps it is actually to do with the Vitality Sensor, and it will allow monitoring of heart rate or something. Its certainly got nothing to do with haptic feedback, or what ever that other rumour was.

“When we make some new announcement and if there is no positive initial reaction from the market, I try to think of it as a good sign because that can be interpreted as people reacting to something groundbreaking. ...if the employees were always minding themselves to do whatever the market is requiring at any moment, and if they were always focusing on something we can sell right now for the short term, it would be very limiting. We are trying to think outside the box.” - Satoru Iwata - This is why corporate multinationals will never truly understand, or risk doing, what Nintendo does.

Changes on the controller look good, hoping to see some great things at E3 so I can get excited about the system.
