What's that little square below the d-pad for?

How would you quantify each in inches more physical terms? And what euphemism does the octagonal gate represent?

Notice that the 'old' controller doesn't have the Wii U logo printed on it, the new one has.

This gives hope to the possibility of having R3 and L3 buttons!

I liked they moved the plus and minus buttons closer to the abxy buttons. The sticks themselves appear to be good but I would have to try them myself to emit an opinion.

Really like the changes they made if this is real, also the controller says Wii U so Nintendo will probably stick with the name...that's really sad :(
