Update!?

Im to lazy to look up numbers myself... Can you update now that everything has been adjusted?

Sorry for the long delay in updating...I was gone for about a month and a half.

August Update:

Added a new graph and updated all the numbers for adjustments. I'll be updating again in a week or so when Septembers numbers come in.

The PS3 adds another 102k to it's lead over the 360 for the month of August and it's roughly 300k ahead of last years lead over the 360 (991k last year, 1,299k for this year). It's looking like the only way the 360 could even come close to the PS3 for the year is if it gets a large pricecut.

If a price cut is gonna happen, its gonna have to happen late this month or not at all

Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.

Exactly. If they're going to cut the price they have to do it before COD and Halo 4 come out (or at least they really should).

September Update

The PS3 adds another 127k to it's lead over the 360 for the month of August and it's roughly 73k ahead of last years lead over the 360 (1,345k last year, 1,427k for this year). The PS3 got a huge gap increase last year in September due to the $50 price cut. Although with the new super slim expect the PS3 to get at least around a 160-200k lead for October (barring a 360 price cut that is)

PS3 will edge out the xbox.

While the 360 did not get a price cut in Japan across the board, the recently released holiday bundle with a 250gb console and two games is the same price as the barebones 4gb console.

Could something similar happen in the US? That is, the holiday bundle gets a cut while the others (Halo 4, etc.) stay the same.

Since sales are lower for both this year and the gap slightly bigger then last year, I don't think 360 will catch up this year. All the sales are basically the same while the Kinect effect is dissipating and the WiiU is in the spotlight this holiday.

The finel gap for the year before August will be near 2 million... I can't see how 360 can sell that in November and December.

PS3 win this year with over 1 million lead.
