Here we go again. This is merely a fan boy poll and nothing more. How the hell can you vote for consoles when you don't know shit about them? Nothing! Zilch!
At least with the Wii U we have a basic idea of what it's going to be, and when it's going to be.
This poll obviously just happened to hit more Sony and MS fans.

Thats what I never understood. If the Ps3 was "the best console" and "the most wanted console" like people are still claiming, then wouldn't the Ps3 have at least taken over xbox by now?

I mean now there are no excuses. Ps3 is affordable and it's been out for 6 years. 

Indeed. IGN Nintendo makes up something of 3% of all site traffic, so they're not getting certain vote segments.

Many people bought an Xbox 360 first and stuck to it. Now we got people who buy 360s because their friends and family have it.
This will all change next-gen though. PS4 and 720 should have similar prices.

Yes, but IGN readers, whether global or from any one country, are not an accurate sample of the gaming populace.

I don't care about any survey, but If Sony launches the next system at a decent price either before or during the time of the next xboxes launch, allowing the console to port games properly,  focuses on hot games, centralizing the online element and still makes a good amount of exclusives they will stomp Microsoft next gen if actual gamers have anything to say about it outside of shooters in the beginning. I am remedying the need for the next Xbox by buying a PC, but the PS4 is definitely a must have. Nintendo? We'll see. Michael Pachter who tends to agree with Microsoft a lot seems to agree that the brunt of Sony's troubles with the Playstation started with  Sony saving Blu Ray and the cost of the PS3. 

No survey will ever be 100% accurate or unbiased.

Since we can't go out an interview everyone in the world, we'll have to settle for this IGN survery. No need to take it too seriously.

Wow, but not really surprising considering the fact that there hasn't been anything Nintendo-related that the typical core gamer / IGN reader has cared about for pretty much this entire generation.

Still, very ironic considering the website originally started off as N64.com and later renamed to IGN64.
