Forums - Nintendo Discussion - What's your favorite 3rd Party Wii game?

Truthfully there were very little high quality original 3rd party games on the system. Most were sequels, spinoffs or ports of existing series. Any original ones were never meant to be AAA. The sole exception to this I can think of is Epic Mickey, which had extremely ambivalent reviews.

Until you've played it, every game is a system seller!

mini-games on consoles, cinematic games on handhelds, what's next? GameBoy IMAX?

Monster Hunter Tri.
I love it's gritty weighty feel, its addictive challenge, and its beautiful visuals.

It would be a tie between Pro Evolution Soccer and Silent Hill: Shattered Memories. The former is the best football videogame I ever played due to the revolutionary control scheme focused in team and off-ball players plays, while the latter ditched the possibility of physical confront with the supernatural, making it one of the best real horror games ever published (also with excellent implementation of the Wii remote).

I am deliberately lowering hype and expectations for the start of next gen

I loved Resident Evil 4 Wii Edition, but I suppose that's a Gamecube game with motion controls. (I've now played that game on 4 systems, what a masterpiece.)

thats the way to go!!! You wont be let down, IMHO just seeing a few of the games reportedly coming to WIi U it will have better 3rd party games in its launch window than WIi did its entire lifetime, oh sure they will be available for systems people already own, but at the very least they wont be crappy versions anymore, more than i can say for WIi

With out a doubt its No More Heroes followed by my most played Wii game Monster Hunter Tri.

For now, probably the No More Heroes games. I have Muramasa, Xenoblade and a few other nice third party games that I have hardly had time to play yet.

I know it was on PS2 already, but it has to be Okami. The game was absolutely fantastic. The style, music and gameplay all came together magically.

Also haven't had the time to play this either. Also, Red Steel 2 has the best melee combat in any first person game ever, but it needed a few more factors to make it more memorable. The music and art style were ok but it lacked interesting/memorable characters and it could have used either a deeper story, or a more simple but more charming story. It's a shame though, I hope they give Red Steel another whirl because I'd like to see it reach its full potential. So for now, my answer is still the No More Heroes series.
