Forums - Sales - Analyst: "Apple's iPad continues to cut into home console sales of Microsoft and Sony."

Wow, people... it was FICTIONAL. Does no one read the entire post anymore before commenting?

Because the title is straight forward, an article on the subject isn't necessary to read because further details are not required.

If they took the time to write a fictional article, then that's there problem, not mine. I only waste 30 seconds, they waste 20 minutes.

I describe myself as a little dose of toxic masculinity.

Let us come together and blame Apple for everything... wait, why am I worrying?! XD This trustworthy OP clearly states that Nintendo is OK. I'll leave this thread and all my worries behind.

Analyst is just plain wrong. For several reasons:

1. The home consoles are nearing market saturation and are in their 6th/7th years on the market! That's longer than any other generation, so of course it is natural that sales will be declining.
2. He's making this claim after only a few short months of the new year, at a time that sales are generally much lower anyway.
3. The iPad/Tablets will never replace or even hardly steal any marketshare from consoles because they are completely different interfaces and playing environments. Have fun playing 4 person shooter multiplayer on a single iPad screen...

The day a tablet/iPad integrates TV display technology without latency and adds some other control interface like buttons/joysticks, all at a comparable cost ($500 for a tablet???) and offers software with comparable features and scale is the day consoles will be worried.

That's like saying tablet computers are taking away from Living Room television marketshare because they can watch movies and things on their tablet... complete rubbish.

I'd buy an Ipad,if it did that.

Keep trying
They alraedy had their peak, is just way down at this point.
Next gen being as big as this one...dont think so.

I did. Hence, my "see what you did there" comment a few pages back.

The "fake analyst" stunt seems more effective than the classic "anonymous sources" stunt. Once again, RolStoppable puts the "rol" in "trololol". :P

I think there's some truth to it in the sense that people's priorities on electronics spending is changing.

It used to be maybe you upgraded your PC/laptop once every 4-5 years.

But if people are buying a new iPad/iPhone every 1-3 years ... that's $500-$800 on that ... may mean they're simply not going to spend as much on say -- "regular video games".

Wow. 6 pages and not only did no one notice, they actually think he's more credible than Pachter.

I noticed a couple pages ago. Go back and read my comment, it hasn't been edited.
