Forums - Sony Discussion - Sony falls to a new 30 YEAR low. Markets just dont believe them.

They really need to let go of the divisions that are losing them money and allocate resources towards what they are best at. Sony pictures, Sony music and Sony computer entertainment is what they should focus on. The tv division should just be sold on. Even though they have lost so much, they still produce many new games/IP's and products. Legends :) I hope they can bounce back, But they really need to work hard to get out of this position.

My guess is people are buying more cheap/crappy TVs. Sony = Quality when it comes to TVs, that's what I tell everyone and It's sad when people go for the cheapest TV only to face problems in the long run.

you see this is just wrong...  no better than some cheaper products and actually inferior to quite a few cheaper brands.

This, I'm a Sony Fan, and I really like Sony products. But the last time i bought a TV, Sony TV's were inferior and were much more expensive... I would never buy a Sony TV if that's the deal.

I've said it multiple times now, and it's been my stance for years now:

Sony, you can't do synergy, you can not compete against Samsung etc on offering quality tv's for good prices.

Drop the devision, focus on the stuff you can save,

Or people buy Samsung or LG TV's which deliver an equal or better picture for half the cost?

I´ve said this since 2006 that Sony lost their mind with Ps3 and will go down... no one believed me.

im god

PS3 is hardly Sony's issue. In fact it's probably one of the better parts of Sony.

It is... currently. But over the course of the entire generation, it will still have likely lost Sony a couple Billion dollars. It's initial losses are unrecoverable. And therein lies the problem with Sony - they have a console that will pass 75M lifetime sales, probably rack up almost a billion game sales, and still end in the red over the course of the generation. They're strategy relied on them having another cycle of PS2 level domination - nothing less could bring them a profit.

They´ve got their fingers in too many pies.

Time to swallow pride and do something about it.

That is not true. They probably overestimated their profit through blu-ray because that is the only reason PS3 has made so much of a loss on the Hardware. Everything else was minor. They knew what they were getting into when they made blu-ray a standard for the PS3. I doubt they expected the PS3 itself to pay for it.

Since the PS3 Sony lost a billion per year.

Godspeed, Kaz.

So that means Final Fantasy Versus XIII is not an exclusive anymore...
