3DS is the only healthy console in japan right now

I agree that your points are logical, but what is going to be Nintendo's decision do you think?

Nintendo has a forecast for the 3ds right? It's about double last year, right? The question is, will it be able to hit the mark without the redesign or not. Sales are increasing, so why redesign? Shouldn't that be saved for a rainy day?

Oh and no, CCP was leaked in a scan of Famitsu before its own announcement.

The forecast is 18.5m. Last year's was 16m, but they only made about 14m.

18.5m is a tall order for a system that is still struggling everywhere, except in Japan. That's why I don't understand your questions, because you put them forward in a way that suggests that you live in a different world than I do. 3DS sales aren't good at the moment and that won't change until August when NSMB2 releases. We already are in the middle of this rainy day you speak of and releasing a Super Mario Bros. game isn't going to magically fix all problems. It's possible that Nintendo manages to ship 18.5m 3DSes without a redesign, but a redesign would make it a safe bet. It doesn't hurt to have positive momentum.

What does the CCP leak matter? It's not like Famitsu was the cause for Konami, Namco, Koei and Square-Enix supporting the peripheral. They all knew about it before it got leaked/officially announced.

Bold, that's how viral marketing works. It's an announcement of the circle pad within the context of MH. It ties the two together. Yes that is assuming that the leak was intended.

I think 3ds is very capable of hitting 18.5 with all the games it has slated this year. I really do not see it having trouble at all.

The Vita's in real trouble now if sales don't seriously pick up steam you can kiss 3rd party support good bye.

Sony reveals worldwide Vita sales as of March 31, 2012

"About Vita," said Sony CEO Kaz Hirai (via translator), "the last year, [we sold] 1.8 million units for US, Japan, Asia and Europe. And as a starting phase, I think it was a good start."

Sony announced 1.2 million worldwide Vita sales at the end of February 2012, which means that 600,000 Vitas were sold during March.

Adding all that up, that's 3.6 millions sold. That's is a good start :)

You had a derp moment there. It`s 1.8 millions, not 3.6 millions.

He'd like to add it once again... maybe 7.2 mln, ok? )
