You're forgetting they now own Eidos and all the IPs that go along with them: Hitman, Deus Ex, Tomb Raider, Legacy of Kain etc. They'd probably keep them afloat for a bit longer.

I don't feel sorry for them, most of them were silly little fanboys who deemed it productive to create the "list". You remember? The one where a fanboy would list all exclusives they possibly could why the PS3 was better than the Xbox 360 all those years ago, most games on the list not even released at the time and weren't going to be released for at least 9-12 moths.

Back in the day when people like DmeisterJ were here.

Just the word "versus" brings flashbacks of annoyance. This was before FFXIII was declared multiplat...Everyone said FFXIII was going to be best before that statement, then suddenly "versus" was the one to look out for. Admittedly FFXIII is a barrel of poo relatively speaking but hey...anyways....

How is that particularly relevant? DQX's budget is surely larger than DQIX and won't even come close to matching. How is that a wise business decision? (keep in mind, it's not the fact that it's on the Wii but rather the gameplay choices and changes they're making to the static series)

If DQX is a success, they have subscription fees to generate revenue. Final Fantasy XI didn't sell millions of copies, but yet all those subs generated more revenue for Square than any other FF title. It's a smart business decision, especially considering this game isn't really aimed at the west either. Japan is going to eat this up.
