Forums - Gaming - Microsoft not renewing COD Exclusive deal?

As we know MS and Activision have had an arrangement for xbox to get 30 days exclusivity on DLC. The recent reveal trailer makes me question if they'll renew the deal. I say this because the Black ops 2 trailer has no "Pre order now on xbox 360 " tag at the end. Black ops 1 , MW3 reveal trailers all had this. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kqOjoYRgnHs (Black Ops 2, no logo)  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T3NQWqL14jc (Black Ops 1, with logo) .

I know it's late in the gen and most COD fans would have chosen their console already. Hopefully timed exclusivity comes to an end next gen. Your Thoughts?

The trailer was a Xbox 360 gameplay though. But yeah.

Yay!!!

If this is true I would assume it's because of Halo

Why would they? The people who have played it on the 360 will remain on the 360 and those on the ps3 will remain on the ps3.

I certainly hope they don't renew, it's not going to matter anymore anyway IMO.

And it's money they can better spend on new IP's, Next-Box development, Live ecosystem improvements or whatever.

For The next-box to encorage Hardware uptake with one of the most popular titles ? After this game it's next gen so Whether a COD fan has PS3 or 360 is irrelevant. The Agreement would obviously for next gen. So why wouldn't they? Maybe a suprise from Sony at e3? I kid of course.

Probably wouldn't make sense to sign another agreement since they want CoD Elite to be successful on all consoles.

iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.

Yeah, like how it did back when they released GTA 4.......oh wait no it didn't.

At this stage, exclusive DLC matters so less it's not funny at all, maybe MS realized this.

Timed exclusives are a major selling point. In fact I'm surprised Microsoft didn't attempt to secure a game exclusive to the 360 themselves. In fact I wouldn't be surprised in the least if Nintendo secured the exclusive DLC for WiiU it would make sense. This way Nintendo could shift some hardware fast, they need exclusive content early in the consoles life cycle!
