Or.... Halo 4 is releasing +/- 7 days of BLops 2 releasing....

Yay!!!

I don't see MS getting much out this deal anymore. When they struck it Activision was sitting on the biggest third party game franchise on HD consoles (still is of course) so I have to take the view MS are paying through the nose for those 30 days.

At the time it seemed a good way of pushing 360 over PS3, particularly in US, but now I doubt it matters a jot. In fact if I'm not mistaken the ratio split between 360/PS3 for CoD games has actually changed for the better for PS3 since the deal.

I guess it depends how much money Activision want and whether MS feel they need to have it just to keep their stronghold in US for the franchise and have people expecting the deal to continue to the next consoles.

Try to be reasonable... its easier than you think...

the first contract start in 2009(MW2),end in last year(MW3)
so it's possible

Contract ends this year so its normal.

Think this will be more to do with Activision not wanting to renew than MS, PS3 now makes close to 40% of the console sales and growing and with the new Elite program they dont want to be pissing of nearly half there audience.

i don't think it's the deal will piss of Sony or PS3 owner

it just waste MS money, because the deal only for COD time exclusive DLC,even the Limited Edition 360 is not part of the deal

Halo 4. Thats enough said.

I don't care either way.

Axumblade if a console manufacturer purchased a title in a major franchise it would cost 200+ million dollars. I can tell you Microsoft or Sony or Nintendo would need to pay out the ying Yang to get it. But at 200-300 million from the manufacturer it easily makes up for the other versions.Activision would still generate all the profits from the platform they launch on. As you said selling up to 15 million units. You never know maybe a manufacturer simply buys a timed exclusive for the main game maybe 6-months or a year.

As for DLC I think buying it exclusively for WiiU wouldn't even be so much about sales. It would be a marketing ploy a move that would reassure gamers that Nintendo is a major player online. Nintendo needs to assure gamers that they are taking online seriously and DLC from CoD or GTA exclusively on WiiU for a while, it would show Nintendo is once again a major player to the core gamer! It would help Nintendo so much even if it didn't turn a major profit. The exclusive content would be smart for Nintendo.
