How very rude of him. I have Vita and 3DS, they're both very good systems.

wonder what his honest comments would have been on the 3ds at this point after launch

Incredible how well this system with so few games is selling. Must be the e-shop doing great work, and well we just make cool consoles with interesting HW features.

And what else is new? Did anyone in their right mind actually think that the Vita would be a massive success?

Gilgamesh! Oops! Sorry you said "in their right mind", nevermind...

You evil man!

I like Miyamoto, and I agree with him. Like Galaki said, all it needs is games.

Koweniki's thread:

I don't mean to be a prick, but this is a VG sales site, use the numbers.

I have to admit that I'm kinda confused over this... I know the DS outsold PSP by... what, almost 9 to 1? something like that - but these pics above seems to show something else entirely. What am I missing??

I'm on Twitter @DanneSandin!

Furthermore, I think VGChartz should add a "Like"-button.

When the DS started getting games like Brain Age it's sales skyrocketed to the moon and beyond.

Who wants to play a dumbed down Uncharted Game on small screen when they can play 3 great Uncharted games on a big screen with proper controls?

What if you can play a great Uncharted game on a small screen? That's the hope. That's when it would become a compelling product (with other great games too). Little Big Planet is not out yet, when it'll come out the Vita will be more compelling. And of course more need to come.

I haven't played the portable Uncharted yet, but the one on PS3 is fantastic, I would be hard-pressed to know that the portable game made by another studio was as good, but others could maybe give a more solid opinion.

But that´s exactely the point of conflit regarding Vita´s product "personality" and  the perception of consumers : For many of them, it doesn´t make sense to pay a high price for a portable game that you can play at the confort of your living room, with more features and for the same cost.  Sony is marketing Vita as a portable PS3 and while it sure will excite some die-hard hardcore gamers that want to have an almost complete experience everywhere, for many people the sense of a portable game being as priceful as a home console game - considering that a portable can never provide a full gaming experience a home console can - simply doesn´t work.

You see, it´s a different thing when we take a look at the 3DS: of course the cheaper device and games are attractive for the audience, but in therms of product characteristics, the 3Ds is not meant to be a"portable-home-console", it is designed to be simply a portable game with most of the possible features that can enhace or complement the experience of playing in a portable console, rather than mimic a home console. The aim is to be a product with its own personality and this combined with an affordable price and a good software line-up make the 3DS more atractive for consumers.

I still think that Vita will have better sales as soon as better software comes. A price drop (which in my opinion is unlikely to happen in short therms) would also help, but the sense of value aggregate to the product personality must be taken into consideration. Maybe Sony should try a different marketing approach, treating Vita like an original product/experience instead of trying to compare it with a PS3
