When I have finished a game, I like to keep it. Why? I have no idea. I guess I just always think that maybe, one day, I'll feel like playing it again, for the nostalgia so to speak. I'm also a display snob, who likes to have many games on display (the way I am with books, DVDs and CDs) and love it when people come to my house for the first time, go straight over to my games to see what I have and generate disucssion.

An example of recent nostalgia is Pokemon Blue. Playing it on the Gameboy, taking it out of the original box was a thrill, and took me right back. I had a blast. Things like the VC on Wii are awesome and I have many of my fav games d/l on there (Majora's Mask, OoT, Super Mario 64, Lylat Wars) but playing those games on my Pikachu edition N64 is an experience in itself that can't be replicated.

My boyfriend on the other hand thinks - you've played it, aced it, exchange it and move on. And he's more than happy with that.

So what do you guys think? To sell or not to sell?

Yeah I tend to keep all my games aswell, for some it's because I will probably go back and play them one day, but in general I keep games because I like having a collection.

I never sell games any more. Used to when I was a stupid kid, but that was a very long time ago.  When I get a game, it's part of my collection. I'd rather not mess around with my collection.

Looking at my collection is almost as pleasing as playing them.

I would say that it's worth keeping them. If you regret selling a game then the experience just can't be matched with emulators.

There is an important upside with emulating though: The batteries of old cartridges dies after approximately 20 years (if my memory serves me right). Meaning that you can't save your progress anymore, and that all of your old saved files will be deleted.

A bonus is that you can play some old games online with the right emulators (like I do with my Nintendo 64 games), but I guess I'm going way off-topic now :)

Haven't played my PSP in a few months but still tempted to buy a few UMD's just for the boxarts.

collection

I used to trade/throw away games when I was young, which I deeply regret now. The result of it is that I don't have any games from past generations anymore :(

Now I keep almost all games and show them off in a nice shelf in my living room :) I did trade some few games that I didn't like at all, but that's it.

I think my gf is selling my games in secret.. every time I look at my collection it seems to shrink... or she annoyed it's taking a lot of space...
