Forums - Nintendo - Crysis 3 not coming to the Wii U

Good for Wii U owners, that series is really nothing to desire for your platform...

Can anyone say "Dreamcast"? Being turned down before release is worrying.

I can say Dreamcast just fine but I certainly would not equate the Wii U to the Dreamcast prior to launch.

Keep in mind we have yet to even have E3 yet we still know the following games are in development:

Aliens: Colonial Marines
Assassin's Creed III
Batman: Arkham City
Untitled Battlefield
Darksiders II
Untitled Dirt
Dragon Quest X: The Five Awakening Races Online
Untitled F1/Formula One
Killer Freaks from Outer Space
Lego City Stories
Metro: Last Light
Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor's Edge
Pikmin 3
Project CARS
Project Nova
Untitled Rabbids
Untitled Super Mario game
Untitled Super Smash Bros. sequel
Untitled Tekken
Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Online
Untitled The Legend of Zelda
Your Shape Wii U

Hardly being "Dreamcasted" I'd say.

The rEVOLution is not being televised

LOL @ "youthinisms".  I think the word you were looking for is euthanasia.

that doesnt make sence a youthanism is a word meaning slang or a saying used by people

Some of the comments in the article are really precisous:

Author (H something aziz): "@Scuffles: That's not a rumor, you can use the Wiimotes on the Wii U. That doesn't change anything for me though. Give me a mouse/keyboard or controller for my FPSes" What a troll!!!

Some other guy: "So it's a slim chance then?"

My guess is that it is (a) development issue or (b) a business decision. My money is on some of both, but the interviewee was talking about development issues. After the "Not a fat chance." comment (which he appeared to struggle with what to say), the next sentence was "The launch platforms are ..." So my guess is took the question to mean AT LAUNCH.

Mike from Morgantown

bold is what makes me want to get very evil with that man...  I'm getting troll-intolerant.

No need to get angry, in the actual interview with the guy you could see he wasn't being very malicious, he's a foreign speaker and they tend to use popular turns of phrase to get the point across. As MikefromMorgantown said above me it's a bit disingenuous for the article to lead with that line, I don't think he intended any disrespect.

Not true, unless potential Wii U owners will always go by the "graphics is overrated" argument. It's nice to have nice graphics and Crytech is good at that. I enjoyed both Crysis games better than I did Bioshock for example (partially because I played the later on a console). Having great tech running on your machine for those who would like it (and there are plenty) is always a plus. Pity, as I am for pointer control in FPS games, and on the Wii U it could be really good.

@Sal

Yeah, I figured I misdirected my anger in that post. It's really the author that's the troll, check my post above yours. Yeah, I watched the video and you're right he wasn't being mean at all and I thought as much.

It's really the author that pissed me off.

(I edited my comment, thanks for correcting me)

Why should they develop Crysis 3 to Wii U if they would have to optimize engine for the platform and do many other things which would eat money and time. After all, how many Wii U's will on the market in the spring of 2013 and how many of its owners would care about something like Crysis 3? It's just won't be profitable. I remember they praised Wii U hardware as well as PS Vita. But of course it doesn't mean they will make any games for these platforms.

They have aleady ported CryEngine 3 to the Wii U.

They have also praised the hardware a few times in the past.

I suspect this is Crytek or EA wanting to wait for the Wii U to build a larger install base and avoid what looks to be a pretty crowded first 6 months.  Could also be that they are putting their resources to work for TimeSplitters 4 for Wii U instead which would probably seem like a better fitting IP anyway.

^ That. Too much software competition as it is already.

We can't even use the NDA excuse. =/
