As well as confirming a November 13 release date and the game's box art, the site's pre-order page says: "Pushing the boundaries of what fans have come to expect from the record-setting entertainment franchise, Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 propels players into a near future, 21st Century Cold War, where technology and weapons have converged to create a new generation of warfare."

The site also links to the first Black Ops 2 trailer on Call of Duty's YouTube channel, but the video is currently private. We imagine that will change once the debut trailer has been aired on US TV tonight.

i thought it was pretty good not that out of control futuristic feel to it, i like mason i think hes a good character has a good look. im curious to where the series will go next year or next gen if there still will be MWs titles

Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 was revealed on Tuesday night with an explosive trailer. Another video was released afterwards though featuring the Treyarch studio head, Mark Lamia, talking about how they plan to push the boundries of the game.

In a Roll Call video with Activision's Dan Amrich, Lamia explains how Treyarch is "pushing the boundries on every front." The setting for Black Ops 2 in a future but plausible setting with branching storylines, non-linear gameplay elements for all new experiences in the campaign.

As for the popular Black Ops zombie mode, Lamia says it is the "biggest and most ambitious zombies ever."

Multiplayer details will have to wait for later but Lamia did say that they are paying attention to feedback from the first Black Ops game. Gamers should also expect even deeper integration with Call of Duty Elite.

I'm STILL playing black ops (had MW3 for 2 months then sold it back). So yeah I'm pumped. Finally a COD game set in the future with the gameplay of BO? Yessssssss.

But much better gameplay and much more variety in modes. Zombies/Campaign/Multiplayer..etc.

For those that don't know the story of hte game is that all these vehicles and robots are unmanned so when the enemy gets the "keys" and controls them....I guess they go back to the wild west!
