It's not 1080p actually, only 1680*1050 |
Says 1920 x 1080. Right about the ubbersampling though, that's a frame rate killer.

The biggest issuse I had with this game was the beginning, it was kinda boring, but after 90mins it gets much better and the story becomes much more interessting.

Indeed, but now they've added an awesome opening cinematic to make the beginning better |
Cool I didn´t know that I definetly have to replay it again after I finish Xenobalde Chronicles.
will be getting this when I get payed!
Im so glade us non-pc gamers get to play a game like this

I first played it on PC a year ago, and CD Projekt was nice enough to patch it with all of the Enhanced Edition content (though it's still pretty much identical to what it was a year ago, except there's more content).
Graphics: It looks fantastic on PC, but it's a port to 360 so you can't expect that.
Difficulty: It gets a great deal easier. The difficulty curve is one of the game's biggest problems, and it was worse back when there was no tutorial. Evade a lot. Never block. Steel sword for humans. Use Quen like your life depends upon it (because it does). Don't be ashamed of going down to Easy for some parts.
Story: The storyline is fantastic, though Geralt has no personality whatsoever.
Sound: Again, everyone except Geralt is fantastic.
I'm enjoying getting back into it, but at the same time, I am having to replay the dull trudging parts at the beginning of the game before it really hits its stride in Act Two.

Actually felt the curve was awesome. It was the first game that felt like it really didn't need to hold your hand. I was a bit saddened to see the 360 version play a lot easier, and possibly be botton masher on normal settings.

Have you made it out of the prologue section yet? Actually into the wilderness and the seen the Trolls / cities?
Cause once you get there graphically it does become pretty damned beautiful. The prologue section isn't amazing graphically or anything but once you hit the mainline game it gets beautiful.
Oh and the story does kick some serious ass.

No. I only played it for an hour and a half on release date. I have no doubt that it's an amazing game. My work schedule (6pm to 6am) is just preventing me from playing it at all again until Monday. I turned it on for about five minutes yesterday to see if the install made a big difference but that's going to be it until I can sit down and give it my full attention. I just made the thread because nobody else was talking about it. Really, the impressions of you guys that have actually spent some time with the game are more credible than my OP. I was semi-sick, in a bit of a rush, and playing without installing the game. I'll post some fresh thoughts on Tuesday.
@d21lewis
Yeah I hear ya man, at first during the prologue I was like yeah this is certainly better than a lot of game but not worth the hype its been getting graphically
but wait till you hit the mainline game, trust me it really takes off graphically and in storytelling. Excellent game.
Thanks for your impressions, I'm considering getting it for PC, but it's too weak right now.
On the graphics, I think it should have been expected. I mean it's on console, and how many times have devs released footage claiming it's real only to have the final product not be what it seemed to be. Anyway, I'm sure it looks great but I want to see it in person too.
