The sales of japanese games have been constant. Thats fact. You might not like japanese rpgs, but the diversity, innovation, quality, quantity cannot be denied

How am I being hypocritical by giving my opinion that I do not like most Japanesee games I have played this gen? They are mostly bad for me. Saying Western games are all about violance and Japanese games are not is not an opinion. So that makes it hypocritical. Also, I never said he was generalizing.

I like many JRPGs and Japanese games just not even close to the amount of Western games I like. Go look at my favorite PS1 game in my profiler if you do not believe me. The sales of many Japanese games must be declining because the developers like Square Enix are constantly saying they are losing sales and they need to find better ways to attract the Western audience.

HE WAS GIVING HIS OPINION TOO..................Yeah it is, if thats how he FEELS its his opinion...................

Square enix has hit profit highs this gen........there DQ and FF series have never sold this much ever..................its the reason why weve seen a record amount of games from those series

also square has never done this many rpgs in a gen ever

Its bad to completely generalise, but in general what he says is spot on.

Are there exceptions? Yes, there are. But, as someone who enjoys Japanese games, wich i was s big fan of since the PSOne era, the games on offer this gen are few and lacking.
Its a fact the japanese lost this gen. They ran towards the PSP for the lower development costs.

But, there are signs of change on Dark souls, Dragons Dogma and other possible titles that make me believe that the japanese can change and rise to the occasion. In general though, they havent, and they should be ashamed that the "western ****" has now been replaced by the "Japanese ****". May it be a lesson in humility and self-improvement so there is no more "****" in the future and only great games.

Your first sentence doesnt make a lick of sense..................and you completely generalize the whole way through

Poor baby, what are you upset the ps3 wasnt the most popular system like the ps1 was? Or are you more upset that the psp had an install base 30 million units more than the ps3 did. I am not sure..............The psp had lower dev costs, higher install base, higher profit margin, better everything than the ps3. So it was natural for development to thrive on it............

There is no "winning" and "losing", thats only opinion, it isnt fact. But sales prove japan worldwide had a very nice time this gen. Ask namco who has risen into a super power

 

How much do you know about gaming? Dark souls, is just like every other rpg from software ever did in past gens.

Dragons dogma is a different riff on monster hunter. Nothing all that new or exciting

 

You want change and rise to the occasion? Valkyria, mario and luigi , disgaea, xenoblade, radiant historia, devil survivor, song summoner, blue dragon, zhp and so much more.................. notice how I brought up games from the ps3, wii, 360, ds, psp, ios.......its easy. The gen has been an embarrasment of riches.......

 

You should seriously be ashamed you say generalizing is bad, and thats what your post is. One hateful false generalization

So is everyone going to tell him his opinion is wrong, if he thinks they suck then that's what he thinks no matter how much evidence you give him to the contrary. I happen to believe they suck also and always have, I didn't even get into RPGs until the west began to develop them.
