I couldn't even complete that piece of shit game because the final time portal wouldn't work. I ended up just watching the ending on Youtube.

I couldn't finish it either. I rented it for a weekend and at the final boss (that chick, forget her name) I kept falling through the ground; not off the edge... literally standing in the middle of that floating platform and falling through it when I was close to beating her.

If only there were patches for console games back then......

I think Fallout 3 does qualify for me, but at the same time I'm not sure if I should say that. See, I saw Fallout and immediately thought I wouldn't like it due to the aesthetic and setting; I don't like depressing post-apocalyptic nonsense and I find it..well, depressing. I said this to my friend, and he assured me that the quirky humor more than made up for it and the sheer vastness of the game and its world was too good to pass up. He got it for me for my birthday the year after it came out, and I tried playing it (made it like 20 hours in) and lost my save file. I tried going through it again, but man I was so bored.

I had similar issues with Oblibion. I adored the openness of it, but perhaps I was just too much of a newb, but I found the quest log system (like, your quest inventory) confusing as hell, and that meant I got lost entirely too often and I felt the game had no direction. the stonefaced, identical-sounding NPC's were boring as hell and had NO uniqueness to them, the game crammed too many stats ontop of each other, and the game was just a jumbled, unengaging mess. content was through the roof, but that didn't change the fact that it wasn't engaging.

At least Skyrim seemed to fix all that. greatly streamlined, much more emotion (though it could still use work), much more direction, better defined world, more variety in locales, better levelling system, better everything. If they could cut out the glitches and make the game have a little more polish, I could easily see myself putting this somewhere in my top ten games of all time list.

I agree with Fallout 3 didnt find that fun at all. But i just chalked it up to not being my kind of game not much of an RPG player but it was really hyped up therefor left me disappointed .

Alan Wake was up there as well long Dev time solid review scores graphics and the story/voice acting were pretty disappointing

Your review is still your opinion
i dont care what u think
i replayed Oot on the 3ds an thought it was still a very good game for today standards
in 1998 Oot was the best game ever released on a system
PROFESSIONAL people reviewed the game and concluded it was the best
u r nobody
and nobody cares

And yet he has  right to his own opinion

I agree with you that Ocarina of Time was and still is the greatest game ever. But if somebody dislikes it then there is nothing you can do about. And you certainly don´t have the right to insult somebody just because you don´t like his opinion.

but shouldn't the 'best game ever' be timeless?  super Mario 3 is timeless, it's as fun today as it was in the 80's.  super Mario World is timeless, Link to the Past is timeless, whereas Ocarina of Time hasn't aged well.  Graphically it's ugly as sin, the controls are clunky as hell, and the game is full of things that just aren't good design choices.  for its time, it gets credit for managing to take Zelda into the 3rd dimension, but of all time, it's merely a stepping stone that has long since been surpassed in quality.

Hell, I'd argue that, thanks to the controls, graphics, and design issues, it wasn't even all that good for its time.  Huge step back in fluidity and content from Link to the Past.

Games that don't age well cannot be the best of all time, at best I'd be generous and say it was the best of its time, but I can think of a dozen games from its generation that were objectively better.  yes, Final Fantasy VII is one of them.

But I for myself never liked any Super Mario Game, I didn´t liked them 15 years ago and I don´t like them today. I could that Fallout and Skyrim a crappy with aweful gameplay and buggy as hell, but then there are thousends of people who really liked the games and some of them that they are the best games of the Decade. It´s always up to the person what (s)he thinks is important in a game.

You say Ocarina of Time had bad gameplay and I say it was good I liked it then and I like it now.

It was not a hyped game, but I felt dissapointed with "Inuyasha: feudal combat", it sucked

No, I say it had clunky gameplay, not bad gameplay.  slight difference in semantics.

i didnt insult him, he claims to be an expert but in reality hes nobody as a writer and really nobody cares about him as a reviewer (maybe almost)
he used his opinion as fact
and made his argument pointless

my opinion is Oot has aged well and is still a top game today
back then was the best

end of the story
